Summary: Not usual King, but very good
Review: This is not what I expected of King, after reading Needful Things, Gerald's Game, Thinner, and The Regulators. It was very touchy-feely at parts, which was damned annoying. But the surprise factor was definatly King. The ending was definatly not. A good book if you are not expecting the thrill fest it is propagized as. The summaries were all misleading, as was the cover art. All in all a good book, if it were written by someone else

Summary: King's Best Ever
Review: Stephen King has outdone himself on this one! The six part setup however is too much to bear - rather do it in one go. This book is up there with the very best ever written. Absolutely excellent!

Summary: Different style of King
Review: These small books come in pieces where only the whole reaches the main theme. This was definetely not the King's style. If you are a fan of King like me you would know that King always writes books which are thick (I mean thick like 'Needful Things') or combine his short stories - again in one thick - book. He admits that he was not sure if this series of books will be appreciated and I sensed that he had this suspicious feeling that the fans would be dissapointed (I surely was when I saw this tiny and thin books of Stephen King). But, other than the number of pages issue the book has more than one flavour. The main characters of the book(s) are not limited with one topic or one person (and animal in this case)-- except the guardian as he is the one telling the story . It is like eating six layer pastry where you never know what the next layer tastes like. And to really enjoy the whole cake you really need to eat it all and never forget the taste of previous layers. I still hope he does not make the repetitions of this style

Summary: Stephen King touches the heart in this one!!!
Review: Once again, Stephen King is at his best. This novel intrigues and pulls the heart-strings. I consider this to be the best book he has ever written. Superb! Wonderful! The list goes on and on. A must for any avid King-lover! One of the few times Stephen makes the reader cry, but it's well worth it

Summary: Charles Dickens eat your heart out!!
Review: Only one word can describe Stephen King's serial thriller The Green Mile: Phenomenal. It's one of the best novels that Stephen King has ever written. The Green Mile takes you on a journey into the human soul. No other author captivates the heart, spirit, and corruption of the human soul better than Stephen King does. The idea of six monthly installments was very creative. Although at times I get a bit anxious because I couldn't wait for the other installments to be published. Stephen King is one of America's best contemporary authors.

Summary: Robert Stein Claims King's Best
Review: This serial novel is one of Stephen King's Best. I couldn't put the books down and I waited impatiently for each new story to arrive. Stephen King's adaptation of life on death row is compelling and often scary. His characters are all woven together to make an excellent story. I would definately recommend this book to anyone. Stephen King's best novel to date

Summary: Stephen King has done it again!
Review: The green mile series is a spellbinding journey through death row. The people you will meet there are hauntingly real and you get to know each of them intimately through the narration of Paul Edgecombe the head gaurd of the Mile. You will meet Mr. Jingles, an unlikely but likeable character. Stephen King has once again outdone himself!

Summary: Stephen King is back!
Review: Reading The Green Mile as a serial was a rare pleasure for me.
My grandparents were able to read serial novels every week in various magazines; they probably took it for granted. Some people would probably say that King's releasing The Green Mile as a serial was a cynical attempt to make us pay $18 for what would otherwise have been a $5.99 novel.
I disagree. I loved reading it this way. Each month I would run to the bookstore down the street from my office and snap up the latest installment. More often than not, I couldn't wait until I got home -- I would sneak it into the bathroom at work and furtively read.
The real reason The Green Mile was such a joy to read, of course, is that it is a wonderful story. It has enough supernatural elements to keep hardcore King fans happy, yet at its heart is a tender, emotional tale of justice, redemption and aging.
The Green Mile is among King's best work. After the disappointment of some of his recent writing (The Dark Half, for example), it's good to have the "real" Stephen King back.

Summary: An All-Time Favorite Of Mine
Review: Not only was this an excellent story, but I loved the way it was first published...in serial form. Looking forward to another installment each month was so much fun!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: remarkably refreshing
Review: My God, this was good! I have never seen a movie that kept my heart in my throat the whole time! Stephen King touched me with The Green Mile, and I am not usually a fan of his. Please read the book; DEFINITELY see the movie!
