Rating: Summary: Not a "freaker"-non-King readers will love this too! Review: If you liked "Shawshank Redemption" you'll love this one!! King weaves an absolutely spellbinding tale of human interaction in the complete 6-part series of "The Green Mile." Narrated by the "head bull screw" of Cold Mountain Prison, each book in this highly entertaining story offers an indepth look at the gifts, talents, personalities, idiosyncracies and lives of each of the 6 condemned men during the warden's tenure. I couldn't put it down, and then thoroughly enjoyed the audio tapes. The pages just fly!
Rating: Summary: A terrific read Review: King has a way of developing characters so that no matter how unbelievable their powers are, you (the reader) still become attached to them. This was the case with John Coffey. Although I rationally knew that Coffey was not a "real" person and the powers he possessed were, at least in my mind, unbelievable, I nevertheless had tears in my eyes when he walked the green mile. It was also hard to integrate the character of Eduard Delacroix with the crime he committed. In Eduard, King created a simple and likeable person and as heinous as his crime was, I still was able to pity his deplorable demise. Even a minor character like Elaine was a three dimensional being in the hands of Stephen King. The first book had me hooked and I can't imagine any fan of Mr.King being disappointed with this effort
Rating: Summary: I have never read anything so compelling! Review: My roommate recommended this series to me and once I started, I couldn't put it down. I hadn't read a book for enjoyment in about five years. After reading this, all I do is read Stephen King and Clive Barker books. I've read about ten books this semester instead of studying. Long live the KING of horror!
Rating: Summary: A very easy way to read a novel. Review: THE GREEN MILE is written in a form unlike has not been seen since Charles Dickens. Each part will hold your interest and the set of six will be one that is hard to forget.

Rating: Summary: You really go back in time .... Review: With the main character as he tells you his life story; mainly about when he worked at a prison in the death row section. I read this series as they were first coming out and could hardly wait until the next time another was to be released. You won't want to put it down
Rating: Summary: Stephen King is back! Review: Reading The Green Mile as a serial was a rare pleasure for me.
My grandparents were able to read serial novels every week in various magazines; they probably took it for granted. Some people would probably say that King's releasing The Green Mile as a serial was a cynical attempt to make us pay $18 for what would otherwise have been a $5.99 novel.
I disagree. I loved reading it this way. Each month I would run to the bookstore down the street from my office and snap up the latest installment. More often than not, I couldn't wait until I got home -- I would sneak it into the bathroom at work and furtively read.
The real reason The Green Mile was such a joy to read, of course, is that it is a wonderful story. It has enough supernatural elements to keep hardcore King fans happy, yet at its heart is a tender, emotional tale of justice, redemption and aging.
The Green Mile is among King's best work. After the disappointment of some of his recent writing (The Dark Half, for example), it's good to have the "real" Stephen King back.
Rating: Summary: Pretty darn good Review: It was a little slow, but otherwise good. It isn't a scary 'monster' story but an close look at how even those on death row can be real people, and the guards held in honor by the public can be the real monsters. It even has a few tear jerkers thrown in for good measure
Rating: Summary: This book is just wonderfuly warming: whisper from the heart Review: I've read all of Kings novels, and must therefore like his talents. Ok, I admit I'm an adict. I read the serial version of the book, and after part one I was hooked. Kings powers with words are amazing, (we all knew that!) and this time he went way over the top. The story, wich should be familiar to all who've read this far, is just so wonderfuly touching, simple and yet full of tender emotions. I must admit to some tears, but gosh, it felt wonderful. The little Mr. Jingles is forever caught in my heart... This fabulous novel is highly recomended to everyone with a heart, for there it will stay.
Stephen King has broven to us that he can really deliver; horror or humane, he is surely a master of storytelling.
Rating: Summary: Powerful, This book really gets in your head! Review: This Book was great! Although I was thrown by the "thin" little books, I trusted that Stephen King would give me a run for my money, and he did! My favorite book was CUJO but
now THE GREEN MILE has blown it away! I was expecting a gore fest
but it wasn't (too bad in my opinion)
I found that you could feel for the characters,
one night I found myself crying after Edwaurd Delacroix
had bit the big one! For days I kept wanting to kill Percy for what he had done. This book had such a suprising ending I said to myself,"What!?". This book is difantly one of King's
best!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: His Best Review: My favorite Stephen King book was The Stand until The Green Mile came along. This is a great story well told. I like the serial form. For a King addict like me, it is much better to have only one month instead of one year to wait for my King fix
