Rating: Summary: Touched by a Mile Review: I have not read the book the Greenmile, but seen the movie. I have always been a stephen king fan. This movie really touched my heart. We need more inspiratual movies to touch people all over ther world. I am so glad that I decided to view this movie. I think I could see it over and over. I cannot wait to read this novel. I cannot get this movie out of my head. I think the world needs more Jon Coffey's in our lifes. He could really make a difference in our world. I was moved by this beautiful remarkable movie. Thank you Myesha Parris Tucson,Arizona
Rating: Summary: One of King's Best Review: I am a diehard King fan. When I heard of this 6 part book coming out, I was like, no way will it ever work. I stand corrected. I found myself waiting at the local bookstore for the next chapter. I just couldnt wait to read the next part of this series. The characters in the book were well thought out. Now after I saw the movie, I saw not one difference between the book and the movie. Again, the actors portrayed their book counterparts absolutely perfectly. If Shawshank Redemption received 7 award nominations, I wonder just how many this one will be nominated for. I just hope that if it is nominated, and I think it should be, it will win!
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I haven't read the book yet but I have seen the movie. The movie has not left my mind since I saw it. This is definately a story that keeps you thinking and makes you want to see it over and over again. I'm sure the book is the same way, so I plan on getting the book a reading it. I definately recommend it to anyone!
Rating: Summary: Superb Movie Review: My wife and I watched the movie yesterday. I always let her pick the movies out because I am a total failure at it. The Green Mile was totally magnificient. I went to the internet just now to check more info on the movie and found that Stephen King wrote the novel. I have never been a fan of his, but am now converting! All the actors in the movie were excellent. I can't wait to get my hands on the novel. (We saw a couple unsavory, rough looking fellars walk in to watch the movie also...I thought, "Lord, these are some big ole rough'uns, maybe just outa jail." Well, they along with everyone else paid very close attention to the movie; they had tears in their eyes when they were leaving. Everybody loved the movie! The whole cast of actors were excellent, not just Tom Hanks.
Rating: Summary: Best Movie Review: I never read the book, but I did see the movie and it was the bomb! I think it was the best movie I had seen in a long time. Now that I have seen the movie I think I am going to read the book! :)
Rating: Summary: The best book Stephen King has ever written! Review: I read this book about a year ago and the story has never really left me. I have to say I have never gotten emotional over a book before but this one touched me. It is truly unforgettable. It was the best book I've read so far and I have read many. It might not be a favorite for some SK readers but the characters, the story and the depth of the novel makes a must read for anyone. Phenomenal novel. It deserves more than five stars.
Rating: Summary: A Good Read Review: I am not the biggest SK fan but found this one engrossing. I have to admit I ran across it by accident when looking for something to read at Crown, sorry Amazon, but I needed a book fix right away. It's a great story that reminded me a little of The Chamber. The character development was excellent and the back and forth from present time commentary on life in a nursing home to the 1932 story I found very enjoyable. It reminds you that elderly people in homes all have led lives that could be the source of many great books/movies as this one is and hopefully will be. I saw a trailer for the movie and saw the characters chosen the parts and was pleased to see Tom HAnks among others who will bring this great story to life. It's fun to see who is cast for certain parts. I hope the screenplay does justice to this wonderful insightful tale. I definately recommend this book. An easy read that makes you think, not heavy duty thinking but as a baby boomer brings home the thought that we all will be in the main character's situation someday. We reach the end of our lives trying to make sense of some events/relationships in our past life and want to tell our story, usually at a time when we are the least able to tell it or more importantly able to find someone who will listen.
Rating: Summary: Engrossed Review: From the bigginning to the end I was hooked on this book. I would place it down, then pick it straight back up again. Quality
Rating: Summary: This book deserves 6 stars but it doesn't go that high Review: I read this over the summer and have been counting the days until the movie...It was so engrossing that i read 3 of the parts in one afternoon
Rating: Summary: This is the best book since carrie! Review: This novel kept me in suspense. Every time i would finish one i'd have to wait a whole month before i could go on but it was worth it.
