Summary: Great Book......Okay for Lois
Review: Lois Duncan is my fave author ever, and I've read almost all of her books. This one was good, but definately not her best. She writes the town very well. The way she describes the lives and secret lives of the families is interesting. Again, full of suspence, and a very intriguing story line. I own the book, and might read it again someday. I don't really believe in reincarnation, but I am very open minded, and just pretended. She uses a lot of facts, I like that. If you don't know a lot about the Salem Witch Trials, I would read up on it some before you start reading this book. Overall, it was a good read.

Summary: Hey...So Is Life
Review: I read it. I dealt with it. I have read better. I have read worse. So is life. This story follows vaguely the type of subject of ' a gift of magic'(i mean that EXTREMELY loosely) but wasn't nearly as good. I enjoyed the book and it's subject but it was vague and standoff-ish..because it didn't get you involved in the characters...A gift of Magic was much better...it is still worth a read..if only to make you think (though i would not recommend it to people who are very strong in there faith and find the idea of reincarnation revolting...)

Summary: A Compelling Read!
Review: I really loved this book! It had an interesting perpective on reincarnation, and showed how a town that looks nice can actually be twisted and full of lies underneath. I liked how it was not a heavily depressing book, but told a little about the Salem Witch Trials also. Sometimes I was really angry with how everyone seemed to be plotting against the main charcter, Sarah, and at other times I was disgusted with her inability to prove her point. If you're interested in witchcraft/witch trials stories, I would recommend "A Break With Charity," by Ann Rinaldi. Gallows Hill is a very good, interesting novel. READ IT!

Summary: Mystreious and Creepy and yet- I like it!
Review: I haven't even finished reding this book and I love it so far! I think the characters are great and I can picture each of them so well. This is the 1st novel I've read by Lois and I think I want to read a few more. I really like the topic of this book and It keeps me reading late into the night! It's a real page turner! ( The only reason there aren't five stars is because I have not read the ending YET.)

Summary: A Bewitching Read!
Review: This was my first Lois Duncan novel. I thought it was excellent! The book was very suspenseful and gave tons of descriptive detail, as well as lots of feelings and emotions in the characters. The story is about a girl named Sarah that has just moved from a town called Ventura,California. She moves to a small little town called Pine Crest that seems nice on the outside, but is really twisted and hidden with unbearable lies underneath. Sarah is asked to take part in a school fundraiser, a carnival and is asked to be a gypsy that tells fortunes, by the school jock. She uses an old paper weight as her glass ball, but later she discovers that she can see people's secrets and predict the future! I don't want to give the book away, but something terrible happens.. sending lies, mischeif, backstabbers, magic, and witches into the small quiet town of Pine Crest. I really enjoyed this novel, it was a great thriller! Next I will be reading one of her books that I ordered off the internet, called Daughter's of Eve. I suggest you try reading this book or one of her many novels, she is truely a GREAT writer!

Summary: Very Strange
Review: This book was exciting yet suspensful tale that was drawn out very long and strange. The way the events took place in this story kept it flowing.I thought that the best character was Charlie. He saved Sarah and I think it as daring of him to do that. The reason why the book was strange was because of the Reincarnation. The book was drawn out because the same events happend a lot or to many examples. This book wasn't the best book I've ever read but it gave me a great view on the Salem Witch craft trails.

Summary: Another Innocent "Witch"ΓΏ
Review: Lois Duncan has done it again! She has written another amazing book that I could not put down. The new girl, Sara Zoltanne is asked to play the fortune teller in the school carnival, easy enough, right? Well not really. On the night of the carnival, Sarah is ready to go. She has her costume, booth,a crystal ball, and her soon to be stepsister as her source of information, What could go wrong? Everything's going well until she sees an actual vision in the ball. It's of the class clown Charlie Gorman being tripped and breaking his arm! Okay, not to worry, it's only my imagination she tells herself but when it actuakky happens, Sarah dosen't know what to think. This is the beginning of the end of Sarah's life as things get a whole lot worse before they get better.

Summary: A gotta read for mystery lovers
Review: This book was really good. In the begining, it starts with two topics and in the middle and end, it ties the two mysterious topics (fortune telling and the and the 17th century which hunt) together into one "spell-binding" book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: My first Lois Duncan Book- I wasn't dissapointed
Review: I remember about a yeart ago I saw a girl reading a book by Lois Duncan it was "Gallows Hill" and she looked pretty into it so I went out about bought it. Bellvie me I wasn't dissapointed. Gallows hill tells the story about Sarah, she dosen't know why but when she "volenteers" to do fortune telling at the school lfair she can actually see the future in the paperwieght. The problem is people arn't really enjoying her gift...
