Rating: Summary: Gallows Hill Review: This story was very interesting. Long but interesting. It's about a girl named Sarah who can see people's secrets and see into the future or past. She goes to a new school and sort of fits in really fast.
Then she saw Eric Garrett and he also noticed her so he asks her if she wants to become the fortune teller for the Halloween Carnival they are having at their school. He asks her that because she looks like a gypsy. She is a hug success.
Later on in the story, she starts seeing a lot of visions and even has some at night when she's sleeping only those are of the past. She sees people getting condemned for being witches or practicing witch craft, the Salem Witch Trials or something like that.
She has a lot of friends and they live in the city of Pine Crest. They still believe in witches there and if they think that Sarah is a witch, she's going to suffer.
Rating: Summary: The Witch in Pine Crest Review: The novel, Gallows Hill, is a story about witchcraft and superstitions. (spoiler) I would definitely recommend this book to others. It is a suspensful book, leaving you extremely inquisitive at the end. I am proud of the main character, Sarah, because she surmounts her fears through self-alliance. This novel is enlightenin, and I am curious to hear about other reader's responses.
Rating: Summary: Gallows Hill Review: Gallows Hill is about a girl named, Sarah Zoltanne. She just moved from California and is new at Pine Crest High School. A boy from Pine Crest named Eric Garrett, who is class president and on the football team, came up to Sarah and asked if she would be the fortune teller for the Halloween carnival, and she thought about it for a while and said nicely,"No thank you." After he kept asking her to be the fortune teller he finally got her to do it. So she was the fortune teller. Kyra, who sarah hated told Sarah what to say to the people getting thier fortune told through a headset. Sarah was very good at fortune telling. Different people wanted to get their fortune told by her. After awhile Sarah didn't want to tell fortunes anymore. Kara and some of her friends got together and did a mean thing to her because they thought she was a witch. You will have to read the book to find out the rest of the story. I like this story because it was mystorious, it would probably be for 13 year olds and up. This book reminds me of, "I Know What you Did Last Summer," another book by Lois Duncan, because it is also mysterious.
Rating: Summary: The Gab on the Gallows Review: I thought the book was very intresting. It took a little while to get started though. I thought the author could have done a better job of leaving clues about the reincarnation of characters.... Overall, the book was very fascinating and I thought it also gave a good description of the harsh treatment of accused witches during the Salem Witch Trials.
Rating: Summary: Suspense-filled! Review: This is a very good book!!! At first, it was hard to follow but the ending is superb. Lois Duncan is my favorite author because her books make you think. Anyway, I absolutely love this book!!! There's nothing else I can say.
Rating: Summary: Charming Review: Gallows Hill is charming, mystical, and an absolutely wonderful book. It has got a magical tension from the beginning til the end. Part of it is the detailed story, part of it,because it's time by time based on real happenings. For example,Sarah Good, has really existed, and she was doomed for being a witch. The author, wich is one of the best I've ever seen, must have done much research while writing this book. It's a great book about the young Sarah Zoltanne, wich is a very special person. It's one of the greatest books I have ever read. It's both worth reading and buying,so my advice is:READ IT!
Rating: Summary: Lois Never Disappoints Review: Lois Duncan's books never disappoint. This book is a must read, if you are a Lois Duncan fan or you are especially interested in the salem witch trials. I fall into both those categories, because I'm a fan of Duncan's, and we studied the salem witch trials in school right before I read this book. This book was even more of a teen version than The Crucible with teenager Abbigail. Sarah's BY FAR nicer than Abbigail, though! Well...BUY THE BOOK!
Rating: Summary: Gallows Hill Review: This book was a pretty good book. I wouldn't say it was a great book but it was a book worth reading once but not twice. The plot was interesting and very creative. The thing that I liked most about this book was the originality of the plot and how it was set in the real world but it sounded like something that probably wiuldn't happen. Overall this book was decent and I would recomend it to any Lois Duncan fans.
Rating: Summary: Gallows Hill Review: Gallows Hill is a very interesting book.It is very exiting and you will probably never be able to put it down. You will love the part when they are at the fair. I recommend this book to everyone, you will love it!!
Rating: Summary: Gallows Hill Review: It is truly a book that will keep you invovled until the very end. You will never figure out the mystery unless you read the entire thing, and i really reccomend it!
