Review: I am now a freshman in high school. When I read this, I was in 3rd grade and the story still grips me every time I read it. It is the one of the few books I read in elementary school that I still like. Mary Downing Hahn is an incredible author who has written other unforgetable novels such as "Daphne's Book" and "The Wind Blows Backwards" If you like "Wait Till Helen Comes" read her others.

Review: I read this book when I was around 11 when it first came out. I am 23 now, and I still remember being drawn in to the characters as a child. At this time, I am searching Amazon.com for all the books I loved as a child to start a collection for the children I babysit. This is a definate addition to that collection, and I highly recommend it.
