Summary: Chilling!
Review: A friend recommended this book and I finally found it in a used book store. This book should definately be brought back into print! Not to compare the two authors, but not since reading M.R. James's ghost stories have I ever felt so chilled. This book stayed in my mind for a long time after finishing it!

Summary: This Book Blew Me Away!
Review: Five stars are not enough to rate this book! It is more like an 11 out of five stars! One of the few horror stories that does not rely on blood and guts to scare you and was truly one of the best books I have ever read. Noel Hynd is a master at his craft in this novel. He tells the story from a pessimist perspective witch makes the book more believable. Forget wandering your home in the dark anymore, after reading this book I could not sleep with out a light on somewhere for at least a week! and what was that creek in the corner was it just the house settling or was it something more....

Summary: A Second Glance
Review: Ghosts was both creepy and fascinating. In spite of it's length, the author never became wordy or prosey and the book was almost impossible to put down. It is "A real page turner." Hynde expleres all levels of fear and and enlightenment without going over the top. The odd assortment of characters are all engaging in their own way and they are quite believable as well. As the pieces of the story, set in Nantuckett, are skillfully brought together, I found myself strangely compelled to "suspend all disbelief" for far more than the time I spent with the book and giving my fellow citizens a second glance.

Summary: Good Read, but not as good as Ghost Story
Review: I am a fan of all things horror - especially a good ghost story.
Based on the reviews I have seen others post, I bought this book hoping to be scared out of my wits. I wasn't.

Don't get me wrong, it's a decent book. Some parts really are scary and the characters Hynd creates are ones you become involved with quickly.

If you are truly looking for something frightening, try GHOST STORY by Peter Straub.

I read it when I was 15 and was scared for weeks. Nothing has touched it since...

Summary: Ready for some Chills?
Review: I have read many supernatural thrillers, as an avid horror and ghost story Reader...Let me just say it takes a lot to scare me. This book left me with chills on more than one occassion. I was actually afraid to turn out the light. This author puts much to detail, that you almost feel transported to the place and time he is writing about! A very good read..and a GREAT ending. I was sorry when I finished it,... Bravo!

Summary: for those who don't scare easy
Review: I heard a lot about this book but only recently obtained a copy as it is out of print. I read it at night in bed with a little book light and every time the house creaked my heart jumped. it doesn't rely on monsters and blood and guts, but pure psychological terror. You'll keep asking yourself, what was that noise? did I just see someone outside my window? why is the cat avoiding the bedroom closet? The ending was not bad, no big overture or anything, more realistic than other novels. My one complaint was that toward the end of the book the author started to write from the ghosts point of view and that annoyed me. It was more fun wondering if the characters were going insane. But I still would recommend it to anyone who likes horror and can't stand the type of thing King and Koontz write about.

Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: I must have read hundreds of ghost stories. This is the most terrifying, entertaining, electrifying and thrilling one I've ever encountered. The movie "The Sixth Sense" almost seems to have stolen themes and techniques from this work. Who in hell is Noel Hynd, anyway?

Summary: This is an AWESOME book
Review: I read the book over the summer, just after i turned 13...I am kinda mature for my age and that helps with this book...It was sooo scary. I loved the mix of romance and supernatural happenings..I thought it was awesome and a great book for anyone who isn't scared too easily. And if your younger, than just know there are some, as some would say, inapropriate parts in the book.

Summary: Excellent haunting ghost story.
Review: I think everyone loves a good ghost story, this book happens to be one of the better tales of the supernatural. Weaving a chilling ghost story with a murder mystery,Hynd comes up with just the right mix to keep you on the edge of your seat. He leaves you wondering who is real and who is a spirit. I thought I had it figured out but I was surprised in the end.

If you enjoy a good ghost story then read this. You will not be disapointed.
