Summary: Chosen
Review: I, as well as many others, noticed the abundance of errors in the book. It was quite distracting. However, I loved it. I sat for hours and hours reading it. It is a great book even if you know what happens in the season like I did.

Summary: Story is good...
Review: I, being one of the minority who actually LIKED the seventh season, think that the story this book tells is amazing. One throw off is the fact that there are so many typos it's not even funny. I can't count the times in the book I would point out something wrong with it. Mispelled words all over the place. There's even a scene where Spike and Anya are walking but at the BEGINNING of that part they say that Buffy and Anya are walking... Everytime the words the first are in the book they are like "the First" . (e.g. Let's say it was a line saying "I got the first donut." In the book, it would read "I got the First donut.") Just very careless editing...

Summary: Big disappointment for those looking for more depth
Review: If you are looking to get insight on the 7th and final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer you should pass on this book and wait for the DVD box set to come out in a couple of years. There is no extra material, no added depth. Long involved scenes from the show are often dismissed with flat, uninspired, single sentences. Many memorable lines of the fun dialogue are missing. 668 pages and yet it still seems thin.

Summary: An okay read if you didn't see the last season...
Review: If you haven't seen the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then this is for you. To me, and any fans of the show, this reads as an episode guide or a Reader's Digest version of the last season.

This is the story of what happens to Buffy when an evil known as The First come to Sunnydale to open up the hellmouth.

The first thing that made this book alomost impossible to read is all the typo's in this. This was driving me insane. We had words spelled wrong, wrong word in the sentence, the punctuation marks were wrong, use of the wrong tense of a word, quoation marks all over the place that seemed to have no logical placemant. Many times, the quote ended, but you never saw where they start, and the use of The First. (notice the cap T and the cap F. The only time we should see "T"he "F"irst is when it 's refering to the character, as in The First evil that walked the Earth. But not in this book..it was The First shower.....The First words out of his mouth...this was really annoying. It's said that the blame should be on the copy editor....maybe...but not all the typo's. At the end of a question, you want this..."?"....not..." / "...which that happened a couple of times. This isn't the first time this has happened to a Holder book, the same thing happened in Blood and Fog? Something tells me that all of the blame can't be set at the feet of the copy editor.

It seems that the episodes glossed over important events. Remember Cassie? Well, her ep, a few things weren't even mentioned, this is just laziness on the part of the author. In one ep, Willow was captured by a creature that wanted to eat her flesh (and did) but this was just glossed over by Holder. If she's going to do this, this should have been done right.

I'd like to see all the seasons done this way (in one book) but just give the show the justice it deserves, and not do a "cliffnotes" version as Holder has done.

It was nice to look back and see how the final season took shape, but this was an episode guide at best.

Summary: awesome, but sad book!
Review: If you saw the last episode of BTVS, then you would know why it had a sad ending. Not just that its their final episode, but it's about somebody dying that Buffy loved as a friend and a great boyfriend!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Writing, Bad Editing
Review: If you've seen the seventh season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then you know everything that happens in this book. It's a novelization of each episode, with episodes ranging anywhere from 20-60 pages each. The author (Nancy Holder, who is never credited in the book) does a fine job of summarizing the events of the season and adding insight into the thoughts of the characters. Especially beautiful is Xander's thought at the end of the last chapter, "Chosen." It really completes Xander's character and fits brilliantly with his series-long arc.

Also, this book ties up some of the loose ends that were not addressed in the screen presentation of this season. For example, in "Help" a psychic student named Cassie tells Spike, "She'll tell you someday." The series never again addressed this topic, but the book does. The book tells you exactly how Cassie's prediction comes true, and that's something that left me feeling very satisfied.

However, "Chosen" is also full of errors and typos. It seems that the publishers were so intent on getting this on the shelves ASAP that they never proofread any of it. By the end of the book, I was extremely annoyed at some of the errors (everytime the words chosen, the first, and potential are used, they are capitalized... not matter what the context is). These errors took away from the final rating of the book because at times they were so obvious that I was distracted from the story.

All in all, season seven was outstanding (as were every other season of Buffy). If you were confused when watching the episodes over the span of a year, this should clear some of it up. The season-long arc is much easier to understand when read. I would recommend "Chosen" to any Buffy fan or anyone curious about the world of Buffy.

Summary: Spell check, much?
Review: Oh my gosh. *lol*
Did they proof read this thing before they started selling it. Very sloppy, and by the way, I am English THIRD language and still noticed mistakes. Anyway, good book if you want to remember the series forever and ever. It's a MUST HAVE for all Buffy fans. If you never ever baught a Buffy book before, this is the one to get.

Summary: Needs an Editor, but Great Story!!
Review: Oh, my god! This book is sooooo thick as Stephan King's!!!! Aaarrghhhh! I love this book though. That was so cool of Buffy that she gets to meet other "new" slayers that are waiting in line to be train to be the next slayer...just in case Buffy Summers died. I am STILL a HUGE Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan for life. I have almost all of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer book series. I have enjoyed them all. Oh, yeah, Buffy gets to be the new slayers' teacher...just the way Giles was her Watcher. i KNOW THAT ANNOYING PEST Spike is in the story, too.

Summary: Great Novlization HORRIBLE EDITING!
Review: Ok so if you are as big of a Buffy fan as I am then this book is essiential to your collection...I missed some things here in there this season and I read the book (in like 2 days) and caught up. Somethings that were left unspoken on the screen are tied up in the book such as Cassie's "she'll tell you someday" to Spike. Obviously refreing to Buffy telling Spike "I love you" at the end of the show. But the editting in the book is awful!!! Not only grammer and spelling but everytime the words "the first" appear they are capitalized (refereing to the big bad) even if it just might be. today is The First of Sept... But overlooking that it was very good read good way to refresh or play catch up if you missed anything in Season 7
