Summary: Buffy the true Slayer
Review: Each generation a slayer is born ... Here we find Buffy living in Sunnydale facing challanges only the slayer could handle. You will find Willow and Zander as well as Giles within this great novel based on life in the Hellmouth ... Buffy is truely chossen and within this book she shows you why !

Summary: Good story, even if the author didn't have a SPELL CHECK!
Review: Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the blatant errors, sometimes multiple per page! I totally agree with the reviewer who thought at first this was just a slip, then noticed how common and frequently occurring the mis-spells, etc. were. Great story, too bad the poor editing and proof-reading diminish the fact.

Summary: Too many mistakes to count!!
Review: I adore the Buffy series and have several of the Buffy books. I just started this one, but I can't get over all the typing and grammatical errors. Why would a publishing house such as Simon Pulse let this book get printed with so many blatant errors? If you can get past the errors, maybe the actual storyline will be worth it.

Summary: Author! Author?
Review: I agree with the previous reviews! I bought this book hoping that it would shed some light on what turned out to be the worst season of one of the best shows on television.
I got no insight.
Although I did notice one thing....
Despite what the picture on this web site shows, the Author's name is nowhere to be found on the cover or on the insides of this book.
Hmmmmmmmm........I wonder why.

Summary: textual problems disappointed me
Review: I am a huge BtVS fan. I was really looking forward to reading this book. I figured there would be things from the script that didn't make to actual footage because of airtime restrictions. There was minimal of that. It only really appeared in the last two chapters. Also, there were a ton of typos. It kind of ruined the experience of reading it, for me. For any BtVS fan, I think it's a great keepsake, but I think you should just be warned. All the typographical errors, just left a bad tast in my mouth.

On good note, it was as gripping as the series. I finished all 668 pages in 3 days. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I couldn't put it down. So, I recommend it, but with caution.

Summary: What a nightmare!
Review: I cannot describe how disappointed I was with this book. Just as a hint, I have read at least a book a day for over 20 years of my life and this is the absolute worst book I have ever read. Don't get me wrong, this was not about the storyline. I am a devoted Buffy fan and the 7th Season was wonderful; I loved watching it and had eagerly anticipated the book. Trying to read the book however was HORRIBLE. Words were mispelled, misused and just plain missing, often during the climax or crucial interaction of the scene/chapter. Portions of dialogue and action were gone, sentences stopped in the middle and if I had not watched the season so many times (bless you VHS) I would have been completely lost more than once. If someone would have just read through this book once before publishing it all of these issues could have been avoided and I would not have wasted [$$] and 6 hours of my life.

Summary: Chosen - The Complete Novelization of the 7th Season
Review: I didn't get to see the final season of Buffy and when this novel came out based on the scripts of Season Seven of Buffy I went ahead and bought it.

The writer is not at fault. She has written many good, enjoyable Buffy books before and what she was presented with here was the scripts as it was written and tried to add to what material was presented. (and if the script reflects the show this season, I was better of not watching)

To the novel:
For the Spike fans, the is enough "scenes" of him in the novel (as I'm sure the was in the series) but the was toooo much Spike. I never cared for the character and take or leave him. The relationships Buffy once shared with Xander and Willow are watered down as the focus is more on Spike and Buffy which after so many "scenes" gets tiresome and boring.

As the Big Bad of the season is revealed, a foe faced in Season Three's "Amends" rises up once more to put an end to the Slayerage line, a line that has become disrupted due to Buffy's second death and return at the hands of her friends (Season Five) and has sent forth its loyal minions to dispatch future Slayers around the world and a far more cruel servant in the form of Caleb - a sexiest preacher who had the Watcher's Headquarters bombed and comes to Sunnydale for the final battle between good and the ultimate evil that has existed since time began.

Sunnydale is on the brink of destruction, the history of the Slayers is finally told in this final season of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and loved ones are lost as one chapter closes only for a new one to begin.

Summary: Shoddy work
Review: I do not recommend. The novel is basically episode quotes mixed in with a lot of Nancy Holder's personal opinions. She obviously did not consult with series creator Joss Whedon before writing it because it contradicts his statements on the Buffy/Spike relationship and does not reflect his views on the final episode at all (see Whedon's Chosen commentary on the season 7 DVD). Besides, it contains many spelling and grammatical errors.

Summary: I don't think ANYONE edited this book.....
Review: I don't think ANYONE edited this book..... but the story was accurate to the season. In the novelization, you get more insight to what's going on in the character's minds. Reading this explained a lot of nagging questions that just watching the seventh season left. I truely enjoyed the story, however, the typos were obnoxious. It's like someone spell checked it and sent it directly off to be published. I noticed that "first" was capitalized everytime it was used. Even in sentences when THE FIRST wasn't even being discussed. But despite this annoyance, I did enjoy the book and would recommend it.
