Review: This book single handedly saved me from the post-holiday blahs! I was engaged from the first page to the last; I laughed, I got spooked, and I learned a few things along the way! Yasmine Galenorn has created a fantastic world in the Chintz 'n China Series (this is the first book). Her characters are real people with real lives, real problems (and real sex - what's wrong with that? I found the scenes tasteful and not at all a detraction from the story!) mixed in with some special abilities. Emerald O'Brien uses her motherwit and the wisdom passed on from her magical Nanna to help the ghost of author Susan Mitchell reveal her murderer. No spoilers here, but this is simply one of the best debut novels I've ever read. Ms. Galenorn's writing is engaging, clear and really funny! I loved it!!!
