Summary: Dean's Mantlepiece Book
Review: At first I thought I was going to be a huge Stephen King fan, until someone told me to try a Dean Koontz novel. Lightning was the first (and by far not the last) novel by Koontz I read. Excellent, quick-paced, and heart-pounding excitement kept me turning the pages faster! I believe this is one of Koontz' best works, and I always recommend it to someone who is ready to try one of Dean's novels. It will get 'em every time!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Page Turner!
Review: Among Dean Koonz's best! An imaginative, gripping tale-- a must read!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: VERY slow at the beginning, but turns out pretty good
Review: Lightning seemed like two complete different books combined into one. That's the only thing I didn't like about it...the first 100 pages, which deal with Laura's childhood, could have easily been condensed into 40 pages or less. A reader's attention span is only so long...I was just about to quit when the story finally picked up the pace.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: My first truly imaginative look at time travel!
Review: I have read almost every book in publication that deals with time travel, but I must say that Lightning takes the cake! It offers a fresh viewpoint on the concept, and it ties its story with a woman and child that you can't help but love. It's a must-read!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An excellent read. Dean Koontz is a master of suspense.
Review: There are a lot of books out there about time travel -- some good; some bad. LIGHTNING is one of the better ones. Not quite as good as WATCHERS, but close. Once you start reading, it's hard to put down.

Summary: I Loved It!
Review: I could not put this book down. I started reading it on New Year's Day & finished it with five minutes to spare until 1998. I'd recommend it to any suspense fan. I also recommend Watchers. That one was really good also.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not your typical horror novel
Review: I'm recommending this book more on its humor than I do the "thriller" part of it. It gets a little wild at the end, but I liked the heroine.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good till the last drop!
Review: This book is fascinating and my FAVORITE of the Koontz thus far. From the moment I turned the first page I was hooked. This book is an all-nighter and be prepared to open your brain up to seperate-realities and time travel that will blow your mind away. From the night Laura was born, through childhood, marriage, and every troubling turn, her faith was with her all too unreal guardian's protection; then he doesnt show up in times of distress and she desperately needs him... This book keeps you wondering where the tale will lead to next, it keeps you guessing and leads you blind around every turn. "Destiny struggles to reassert the pattern that was meant to be." One second thought about this statement and your addicted...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Brilliant and addictive
Review: My personal favorite along with Cold Fire. The starting of the book alone foreshadows its brilliance. This book gets going from the start and it gets addictive after that. I remember myself going an all-nighter b/c of this book. Just the best.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A primer on time travelling and alternate realities
Review: Not only does LIGHTENING have strong characters, but also an intriguing plot dealing with both time travel and alternate realities. There wasn't anything displeasing about this novel.
