Rating: Summary: excellent - how can anybody not like koontz Review: I can't understand some of the latest reviews on this book. Koontzs characters are really human. Other books that are fantastic are : the voice of the night, whispers, shadowfires, the house of thunder. How can anyone read the likes of Partricia Cornwall after reading this?
Rating: Summary: Probably the BEST ever in the koontz' collection Review: Perhaps I am Mr. Koontz' biggest fan in México city, and it's such a shame that the translations of his books are so lousy, because I couldn't share this book with a lot of people in it's original version. The book is astounding, it keeps you on the edge, the time changes are amazingly well-crafted, and the story is unique. I haven't read any book from Koontz that can't be awarded as a Great Read... but this one really stands out. A MUST!
Rating: Summary: This was my first Koontz, but definitely not the last! Review: This was the best, by far, of all the Koontz novels in my opinion. I have read them all but Santa's Evil Twin and always recommend this one first!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read!!! Review: I have read a lot of Dean Koontz's books and this one shines over the rest (and that is saying a lot). He intertwines history with fiction in a story that rockets toward a spectacular conclusion. The twists and turns are intricate but easy to follow and well-explained. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys fast-paced action and memorable characters. I've read it several times and each time I can't put it down until the unbelievable ending.
Rating: Summary: You MUST read this book! Review: In my opinion, "Lightning" is Koontz's best novel, and one of my all-time favorite books. It is an awesome scifi-adventure-thriller that I could not stop reading. You can not be disappointed in this story about the life of an auther- turned Laura Croft, when confronted by nazi time travelers.
Rating: Summary: Flawed but entertaining Review: This is an entertaining read with a plot that moves like a freight train, but the dialogue, especially between two 12-year twin girls, is sometimes over the top. Still, I think it would be a great movie (and Rutger Hauer would have to play the male lead). On the other hand, am I the only one who had a problem with ending. I won't give it away, but Koontz's "solution" for the cold war left me cold.
Rating: Summary: My favorite Koontz of all time! Review: This was the first Koontz I ever read, and it got me hooked! I'm now a big fan and have read all of his books to date. I have recommended this book to many people, and not one did not like it. Whether you like suspense, mystery, horror, or drama, this book will leave you breathless! You can't put it down.
Rating: Summary: Even Worse Than Koontz's Usual Trash Review: Listening to this book on tape was even more painful than reading it because of the phony slavic accents. Koontz always lacks interesting characterization & any flair in his prose, and this time he also lacks an original story. "Ho-hum..." and "Who gives a good goddamn?" flittered through my mind as this inane rip-off of a story prattled on. Worse than listening to your best friend describe the minute fluctuations in her bad relationship.
Rating: Summary: Best Koontz novel by far Review: If you like books with time travel aspects this one is for you. From Nazi Germany to the present day this book will keep you hooked. Tremendously well written and fast paced. You will want to read it again!!
Rating: Summary: One of his better books! Review: This book ranks in my top 3 of Koontz' novels. I rank "Intensity" at the top followed by Lightning and Tick Tock. They seem to be different than the rest which all have similarities with the exception of Dark Rivers, which was also a good read. I especially liked the Time Travel aspect, but also found a few things a little far-fetched. For the most part, a great read. Enjoy!
