Summary: Amazing Book!!!!
Review: Audrey Rose is a very good book, it is about reincarnation, I know some don't believe in reincarnation but I think anything is possible. Who Knows! In the book a man named Elliot Hoover approaches a couple named Bill and Janice Templeton with the claim that their daughter Ivy's soul is the reincarnation of his daughter Audrey Rose who died the same day Ivy was born. They made a movie from this book that was also very good, only thing is I don't understand why both book and movie are always listed as horror, I don't really see it as a horror story but more like a psychological, drama and mystery and suspence especially the mystery of the afterlife!I highly recommend both the book and movie!

Summary: This Book Makes You Think!
Review: Audrey Rose was a fabulous book about a girl named Ivy who actually had lived another life and was a little girl named Audrey Rose and when Audrey Rose died she was born again as Ivy, Audrey Rose's soul was reborn into Ivy's body. I liked everything about this book but the only thing that I found unrealistic was that Ivy was about 9 or 10 years old and was 5 feet 9 inces tall and had large fully developed breasts among other things but that's really the only negative thing I can think of about this book and it's a minor complaint and I recommend this book greatly! Oh by the way I don't find reincarnation terrifying, the Hindu religion of India believes in reincarnation and considers it a beautiful thing to be able to live again and they don't find it terrifying, oh I suppose if reincarnation is not part of your religious beliefs you might find it scary because people always fear things that are different or can't easily be explained, my religion doesn't believe in reincarnation but I don't dismiss the idea of it and find the idea of maybe being able to come back and live life all over again interesting, of course it would be cool if you had the choice of whether you would want that or not. Sorry, I guess I am just in a philosophical mood today!

Summary: Another forgotten gem!
Review: First, this book fails somewhat as a horror novel, because the author didn't explore/exploit the horror elements as much as a horror fans like me would have liked to see. Yet, a horror fan will find the novel satisfying, nonetheless. Mostly, the novel succeeds at the metaphysical level, challenging the reader's core beliefs about who we are as a race, and what becomes of us after death. Therefore, the book has a broader appeal. The one problem with the book, however, is that it bogs down into a courtroom drama, thus ruining the pace, although the content here is engaging. Also, the ending is somewhat disappointing. I'm not sure if three stars is more suitable, but the book is a good read, regardless. Also, be sure to check out the film, staring Anthony Hopkins. It's a faithful adaptation.

Summary: Terrifing way of looking at life
Review: Having read this book at a somewhat impressionable age (15yrs.) I can say that it made me think, not only about death but life. I am now 36 years old and I can still remember every essence of the characters in the book. I can remember how the descriptive writing swept me up and away to places I had never been, writing so descriptive that the movie "Audrey Rose", with its flat characters, paled in comparison. A book that influenced me so that when my husband was killed just 6 weeks after our sons birth I new that my husband lived on in the child that we had tried for 2 years to conceive. This novel is a masterpiece a classic. "Reincarnation?" Reading "Audrey Rose" taught me, "If it's conceivable, it's believeable."

Summary: A Good Story about Reincarnation!
Review: I too was a young teenager when I first read Audrey Rose and it made a lasting impression on me too.I'm in my 30's now and I still remember this book and recall how much I liked it and how much it made me wonder about things such as reincarnation and the unexsplained. The book was presented as a horror story but I really didn't think it was what I would call a horror book. It is more mystery and suspense and the psychological aspects of parents having to come to terms with the fact that their daughter may have lived before as a little girl who died a tragic fiery death before their daughter was born and you can understand why Bill and Janice would not want to believe it because it was something new and unknown to them and they loved their daughter and were worried about her because they thought Hoover was a psycho but you can also understand Hoover trying to help Ivy because he thought she was his daughter Audrey Rose reincarnated but I still can't help thinking that since Ivy only had the terrible nightmares whenever Hoover was around that maybe he should have just stayed away and left her alone but anyway I think it's a great book and I recommend it!

Summary: Almost a reverie
Review: This book is one full of pathos and yet with a lot of depth.the child in the book and her natural father are tied together with a tight string which even the fires and ashes could not burn.i would recommend this book to anyone who does not believe in the supernatural as a concept and yet has fears and doubts about its existence.those who believe in reincarnation and those who have doubts.its not a book hurting any religious sentiment and yet it is of the profoundest intensity.
