Rating: Summary: Bloodwar Review: If you like to be scared then this book will do it for you. The way that Bob Weinberg weaved his story was wonderful to read. He brought in Element from a few of the game lines. He created a world full of black and white. While still retaining elements of Wonderful color. Most notably red. I enjoyed the style of characters that he has created. But where are the low down luck neonates that should be availible that should be in many book sabout the wolda of Darkness. After ll we all have to start somewhere. I would have giving five stars except that you have to buy all three books just to find out what haapens

Rating: Summary: Truly a World of Darkness.. Review: If you play Vampire: the Masquerade you have to read this book. Based on the facts and mechanics of the popular role-playing game, it is sure to impress. What makes this book so great is that it is filled with the lies, attitude, and action of the game with a unique plot and cast. What I loved most was reading how Weinberg made the game systems come to life in action sequences and Masquerade protection. Even if you aren't familiar with the game, the book provides a history and and overview of vampires. As new powers, laws, or concepts arise, an explanation follows. Any sci-fi/horror fan will like this book, but a true Vampire fan won't be able to put it down.
Rating: Summary: Truly a World of Darkness... Review: If you're looking for a new sci-fi, horror, or vampire novel, this is a great book. Blood War is the first book in the Masquerade of the Red Death trilogy. This book was written using all of the laws, powers, and mechanics of Vampire: the Masquerade by White Wolf game studios. Although this advantage may make the book easier to grasp, it is not necessary. The beginning of the book gives a history and overview of vampires. As new powers and concepts emerge throughout the book, an explanation always follows. This book was filled with all of the twists, turns, lies, and mystery of the role-playing game. It also gave the reader a chance to watch the game functions come to life in a vivid scene of action or a unique display of vampiric disciplines. The main characters are Dire McCann, Alicia Varney, and the Red Death. McCann is a mage serving as a dominated host for the 4th generation sorcerer Lameth. Alicia Varney is the Archbishop of New York's ghoul and another 4th generation's host for advanced dominate. The Red Death is the progenitor of a unique bloodline, The Children of the Dreadful Night. Begin the quest to find the true identity and motives behind the Red Death among the chaos that exists in White Wolf's World of Darkness.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful, Compelling, enthralling,....so on and so forth Review: One of the most fantastic books I've ever read. Weinbergs writing style grabs you attention and holds it, and the plots he spins is totally intriguing. Great command of language, man, he has style. And amazing insights into the World of Darkness, the picture he paints is frightening in its realism. You know this is a fantasy, but is it? :)
Rating: Summary: Impressive scope, especially considering the topic. Review: Robert Weinberg has managed to combine the two most difficult to achieve traits in a V:TM fantasy novel, namely character development and scope, with rapid action and a pace worthy of James Bond. The characters of the Camarilla, their servants and tools, as well as their ancient vampiric manipulators, come alive. We understand them, feel their desperation, revel in their triumphs, but realize how ephemeral is victory within the Jhyad, yet how final are the defeats. By scope I mean that the book reaches back to ancient beginnings, and across many current boundaries and spheres of influence. The book's villains appear in the principal city of the vampire world, pose threats from that vantage which could affect all life on Earth... yet somehow manage to do so without getting preachy or unecessarily artificial... the connections seem possible, and we feel comfortable with the trails ending at the feet of real entities out of vampire and human legend. Few ficititous worlds are so completely well-crafted, even accounting for the advantages of writing within the well-established World of Darkness. Of course, even so skillful a web as Mr. Weinberg has weaved, would be dull if there weren't constant action along with the angst. The World of Darkness is a violent place of sudden death and dangerous creatures. The special effect budget for a movie based on this script would keep several hi-tech firms busy for years. A rare treat for any fiction fans; a must-have for gothic horror fans.
Rating: Summary: The Blood War Trilogy was a great page turner!! Review: These books were a great read! They made you want to keep reading and reading non-stop just to find out what would happen next. He let you get to know all the characters well but still left them mysterious and interesting. I highly recommend these books!
Rating: Summary: Worth the money and time to read! Review: This book was the begining of a wonderful series. After reading the whole three books in the series I re-read it about two more times in one day just trying to replay over and over the actions that happened. This book is really marvelous. Although, I think it left me wanting to see what happened between Madeline and Elisha who I loved! This series made Weinberg one of my new favorite authors to look for when I want to read a good book! It's not that hard to get into. It doesn't describe to much so that you get tired of hearing discriptions and begin to drift. All the characters are cool
Rating: Summary: THE RED DEATH BURNS UP THE PAGES Review: This is an amazing series of books, for fans of the World Of Darkness or just fans of Vampire stories. It is definately a page-turner. The concept of the Dark Messiah and a vampire that contols fireis wonderful! And set in my hometown at that. Mr. Weinberg definatly did his research on DC. I am currently rereading this series for the 5th time. It will keep drawing you back every time. Relearning the secrets is half the fun!
