Rating: Summary: Shrill Thrill Review: This has to be one of King's finest work of art. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I read it. Linoge made my blood run cold and sent chills up my spine .Plus the movie was just pure genius. I recommend this book to anybody and everybody.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I thought that this book was going to be like any other TV based novel, but it wasn't. It was so real it scared me out of my pants. I have had nightmares since I have read that book. AWESOME!
Rating: Summary: Really, Really good book! Review: I haven't read the book, i have seen the movie on ABC. It was the best movie in the whole world! I had a great plot and had many intersting things in it. I would really, really like to read the book, though!
Rating: Summary: It is soooooooooo scary Review: The story takes place in a remote island called Little Tall off the coast of Maine. The main character is Mike Anderson the constable It is temporarily cutoff from the mainland because the storm of the century is going on. Then, an unwanted visitor arrives called Andre Lingone, he kills an old woman. The constable arrests him, but soon he finds that he is not human, because his eyes turn to blackness he has the power to make people's guilt felt to make them do crazy things, and he has fangs. Lingone escapes, kills a couple more people, all with the same murder message: Give me what I want and I'll go away. Then, he asks the town people to join him at a town meeting so he can tell them what he wants.I loved the book and the movie, because it is so realistic and you feel like it could happen to you. I ask you to buy this book because it is great for people who like scary reads. The one thing that really scares you is the things about Roanoke Island. At the end the town ends up keeping yet another secret. But after all island folks can keep a secret you know.
Rating: Summary: Disapointed at little tall Review: One of the worst most complicating movies that I have ever witnessed. All the big hype leading up to the third night was very disapointing. The ending made no sense what so ever. He just took a kid and never returned what is with the constable seeing his son at the end? This movie disapointed many fans and could of been played in one sitting.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, if you're looking for suspense. Chilling!!! Review: Both movie and book were great. As a mother I was left with mixed feelings of anger, sadness and lonliness with its' ending. I expected a "happy" ending, yet it was so realistic that I had to watch it with the lights on. Stephen King is definitely the Master of Suspense! I recommend it if that is what you wish to read. It is his best work yet.
Rating: Summary: Spooktaclurly Creepy & Extremely suspenseful!! Review: The Storm Of The Century was the best "Screen Play" ever presented on television!! The screenplay itself is a MUST HAVE for any Stephen King fan-atic!! I personally own almost every novel he has ever written (Including the Bachman series as well!) You, as an avid reader will find yourself on the edge of your seat at all times!! I can't wait to purchase the Video to add to my home collection!
Rating: Summary: A pathetic salute to millenial exorcism of self-soul& King Review: Millenium does it better-Frank Black.Without any high & mighty. I felt King addressing himself throughout -the battle within himself played out in a dreary TV "Movie of the Week". During interviews on such luminous programs as "ET" he slumped in his chair with fake WOW over the wonders of TV verses cinema- how "you really have the time to tell the story"-over six(6) hours in fact-My Gosh I've never seen so many ads!I'm sure it all boils down to just over two hours of actual screen time.I've enjoyed a few things he's done in the past -a spiritually positve book I once read in a time of...that's another & MY story. Storm of the Century was wagon-jumping incoherent,& deeply dissatsfying:evil triumps because humans are all a bunch of jerks & not even a decent therapist can "clean all wounds" (Ouch!)..I really hope a decent writer like King can re-evaluate his artistry & audience & remember the only true sin is letting yourself down.
Rating: Summary: A book written on the darker side of Stephen King Review: I am an avid Stephen King fan. I have every book that he has written and have ridden out several phases in his writing. Overall, the book was very good, and just finished viewing the screenplay; however, I am not overly happy with the ending. In all previous books, good always triumphs over evil. I cannot believe that Mr. King let evil win. Is this the darker side of Stephen King? I hope not...
Rating: Summary: HE'S BACK!!! AND ABOUT TIME TOO Review: Well, we've heard the bad and the good. And it can't get much better than this. I was a little put off when I saw it was in paperback and a screenplay. I don't like sreenplay's they read too fast. But the way he has put in peoples actions and the way they look and feel and what they are thinking through their actions is wonderful! Following the movie through the screenplay was interesting, you could see where lines were changed, or placed in different parts in the movie, some lines were new not even in the screenplay. And the other thing...SK catches the way people from Maine talk. Being a New Englander..since birth, and having a summer place in Bangor, these accents and speech is very real. It's wonderful! I know two of these poeple already! They ending is something I did not expect, very scary, and shocking, my mouth fell open! I was truly shocked! I figured some stubid ending that SK CAN be known for! WONDERFUL, I hope his next work is just as good!!
