Summary: Great book. Dunno why people had problems with it
Review: What's wrong with you people this book (and the miniseries on TV) was great! SK (Stephen King) explained why the ending was the way it was (read the book or see the movie and you'll understand). SK said that people are usually told in movies and books that if you do the right thing everything will be OK. Good ALWAYS prevails when doing the right thing....and on and on. But what would happen if doing the right thing didn't always make it OK? What if you had to give one to save the rest and have to lose someone close to you? SK wanted to show people that he didn't believe that in real life good isn't always the triumphant one. That's what makes it realistic and realism is what makes it scary. I don't know what's wrong with this book being a screenplay. It's the same damn thing. And I just loved Linoge repeating "Born in Sin,Come on In."

Summary: If the book is 1/2 as gripping as the movie.........
Review: I am a huge King addict and the movie satisfied my craving for classic King;as I was greatly dissappointed in Bag of Bones. The characters were rich, the dialoge rang true and the suspense had me on the edge of my couch for 3 nights! I cannot wait to read the book!!!

Summary: You will think hard after this one..it won't leave you.
Review: What happens when a tremendous storm, and a malevolent force converge over a small island full of people with dark secrets? You get the "Storm of the Century" by Stephen King. Once again, King relies on the readers own thoughts and sets up an incredible ending, which is guaranteed to make you think long and hard, a long time after you read it. This is the number 1 reason why I love this "book". Andre Linoge has come to Little Tall Island...and he knows everything about everyone. He brings out the worst in them all, but only has one request..."Give me what I want, and I'll go away." I can't tell you what he wants, but I can tell you that you will definately want more!

Summary: BE SURE TO READ THIS ONE
Review: Creepy and thought provoking. This screenplay delivers the chills as well as thoughts on morality, good vs. evil, and how far people will go to protect their own interests. I like King's tie-in with the real life mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. The way he uses the name of the evil spirit, Linoge as an anagram for Legion (of pigs) was interesting. I thought the reference to Croatan on the last pages of the screenplay was quite inventive. All in all this work is scary, chilling, creepy, and gruesome -- just the way we like 'em. If you want to read another scary King book try DESPERATON.

Summary: Excellent!!!
Review: I loved the movie and I can't wait to read the novel. I have always been a huge fan of Stephen King and this movie just reaffirms that fact.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: For sure, a darker one...
Review: It was an entertaining story....kept me right on the edge of my seat, in true King fashion. But, did anyone else, besides me, miss the customary "good vs evil to the bitter end" struggle, or the the "divine intervention" that we've come to expect. I was really looking for something akin the the "hand of God" (a-la The Stand) at the end.

Summary: Suspenseful at first, then annoying.
Review: Does advertising sell? Yes, it does. I'll admit, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this. (Stephen King books and I are old friends.) But what started off as legendary Stephen King suspense turned to annoyance with Linoge's repetitive, "Give me what I want and I'll go away." Ooh, spooky scary. It would've been OK, if Linoge said it that first time, and it also would've been all right if King left it alone with the first 3 murders, but no, it had to go on and on and on. "Give me what I want and I'll go away." Even after the constable asked him what he wanted, Linoge chose silence. Well, he had his chance. I couldn't even finish Storm of the Century. Instead, I made up an ending in my head, that I probably would like better than the originally ending anyways.

Summary: after all these years , King has still got it
Review: Storm of the century is possibly the best book I have ever read. I could not put it down, and I haven't even read all of it yet. Andre Linoge has to be the most terrifying villian because there is nothing scarier than someone who knows all your secrets, the kind of things you would take to your grave. The ending was a complete shock. I was expecting all the townspeople to get rid of the villian somehow but they didn't and that made it more real because more often than not evil does triumph and that my friends is reality. It wasn't like a horror story either, it was more like a nightmare, the kind of thing that if it happened would be your worst fears become reality. I recomend this book to anyone who doesn't mind being scared, at least once and a while. After all these years, Stephen King has still got it.

Summary: One great story
Review: Since I am from the town where the movie was filmed, I obviously had extra interest in the Storm of the Century. I was surprised, however, how good the movie and the screenplay actually were. After seeing the movie, I bought the book and could not put it down, even though I knew what was going to happen. It really grabs you, while you feel for the townspeople and decision they have to make. The ending is disturbing, which I suppose it what Stephen King is trying to accomplish. Overall, I would say this is a great tale, no matter what medium you experience it in.

Summary: The book and movie are the scariest, mysterious saddest book
Review: Get the book ,watch the movie. Get your tissues for part3. Part 1 and 2 rock the strange things occuring in Little Tall Island are mysteriously scary. Lineog is perfectly scary + mysterious for this. One more #1 book and movie Steven King. I still think they should have stayed married though and he should have stayed too! That was so sad. He should have told her about Ralphy. He was her son too.
