Summary: Good book in the series, but not the very best.
Review: Alex likes to bet. It's his habit, and it often gets the better of him. He wants to be a millionaire when he grows up, and he can't wait to be one. But in school he likes to compete, too. He can't take the fact that a girl in his class can be so much better then him. So when his teacher asks him to write a diary, he's going to prove that he really can be the best in the class. But when he finds a strange, old diary in his basement, everything changes. This diary can predict the future -- and soon, Alex is winning every bet in the school. His peers think he can predict the future. And he really can -- and it's all because of his mysterious secret diary. Alex wants to get more and more money, but sometimes it's better not to know the future. Because the future can contain very unwanted surprises. I liked The Nightmare Room #5: Dear Diary, I'm Dead by R.L. Stine, but it wasn't the best because of the ending. That was just too expecting of R.L. Stine, reflecting his poor Goosebumps writing. But it was still very enjoyable, and a lot of fun to read.

Summary: dear diary,what the???
Review: dear diary, a few months ago i read a book called "dear diary, i'm dead.don't get me wrong, it was okay but it had : * a terrible plot. * a horrible ending. *and,it never even tells you what makes the diary "tick". it's about alex, who gets a new desk for his room.when he opens the desk, he finds a diary.the diary tells him of what will happen the next day.he's a bit skeptical at first, but alex is a betting kinda guy.so, he uses the diary to win bets & money.he also uses it, to one-up tessa, his betting rival.but it soon starts controlling him by making him do crazy things. it is o.k.,i'm not trying to talk you out of it.but if i were you, i wou l'd read "the howler", which is also by stine. i give it three stars. well diary, that's all for now.i have to go. sincerely, pingpong><>

Summary: Ehhh, it's OK
Review: It's OK. I really didn't like this girl Tessa. She got on my nerves big time. The idea was really cool. I kept wanting to read. But the ending made me say "huh?" I was a little disappointed there. Some of the book is laughable; a lot more could've been done with this great idea.

Summary: What the...?
Review: This is the worst book in the Nightmare Room series up to date. A kid called Alex is a betting freak. He gets this new desk and walla, there is a diary in the desk drawer that tells the future. So he starts winning bets and knowing the future.I am disappointed in the plot,it's so unoriginal.I'd suggest you skip this one.

Summary: One of the best Nightmare Room books.
Review: Twelve-year-old Alex Smith is always making bets with his friends and classmates, most of which he loses. The stakes are raised, however, when he bets Tessa, a girl who is in several of classes, that his diary, written for extra credit, will receive a higher grade than hers. What sets this bet apart from the others is that Alex bet Tessa $100. Now he's desperate. However, when he gets home and finds in his new desk a diary with an entry written by him for tomorrow, it feels as if his luck has changed. Suddenly he knows the future - and can win virtually any bet. Soon he's winning bets left and right. What Alex doesn't realize is that knowing the future comes with a price he may not be prepared to pay. This was one of my favorite books in the Nightmare Room series, topped only by Locker 13. I'd highly reccomend it to all R. L. Stine fans.

Summary: Hmm
Review: Well, first of all, I love books by R.L.Stine. But this one was one of the worst. The book title gives a lot away; the ending was confusing and disappointing. There are lots of "predictions" in there that makes readers dread if the main character is going to die or not, but well, I thought it was rather forced in. The characters were not involving. I especially disliked the very first part about "camping." You should skip this one if you're reading all of the Nightmare Room series. Not enthralling or involving.
