Summary: This book is really dirty!!!
Review: I read this book and thought that it was one of pike's best books but the one thing I hated was there was too much sex involved. The review written by one of the readers reviewed the wrong book. the review should go to master of murder!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Eerily Like the Dramas On Television Every Day
Review: I read this book when I was in ninth grade. I'm still impressed with the material, though perhaps the writing is not that great. I thought the characters were wonderful, full of real human emotions. The story is written in third-person but it is from the point of view of a male, unlike many of Christopher Pike's other books, who is somewhat of a flawed hero who does not come to a happy end by the conclusion. It is full of tragic characters, all of whom are connected in a bizarre, yet somewhat realistic situation. I was particularly impressed with all the ways in which the story comes together by the end, as if all the loose ends are being tied together. And the main character, Herb, realizes a valuable lesson. In life, people are not always as they seem.

Summary: Die Softly
Review: I really liked, how the person I didn't suspect, was the murderer, and it's weird how that is, but I don't want to give it away.
I also like how Herb, the main character, wasn't perfect and popular like most of Christopher Pike's characters are. I also liked how Herb would do things for Alex, just because he was in love with her. He was really whipped by her!

Summary: Heavy topic's
Review: I remember this book from when I was young. Then end was writen in such a silly way added to how creept out I was. Not only was it very guesome but it played on a theme that is very adult in nature. This is why I recall this Christopher Pike novel in particular. The characters are so young and innocent and played this way in the book as they are, its only too easy for children to be shocked by the scope of the ending. Like a child watching Kids or Train spotting to view the realities of life, it was after a lot of reflection that this book made me think even harder about teenage decisions and their after affects. The main character is strong and becomes heroic in nature. Not only is this book entertaining, a great read, but also thought provoking. Four Stars.

Summary: An Interesting ending
Review: I started to read this book in seventh grade, but thought it was a little boring, but then again in eight grade after I got interested in R.L. Stine I ran back to the library to try it.
I read it in 3 hours! I just couldn't put it down. I'm also a fast reader. The only bad thing I found was the ending. It was a little long and she explained to much. It should have been plain and simple at the end, but the middle and beggining was very good. I thought for sure that it wasn't Alex because Christopher Pike had set her up as bieng the bad person and he usually won't do that!
I'll for surley read it again.

Summary: I think it is a wonderfully told story.
Review: I think all of Christopher Pike's stories are wonderful. Christopher Pike is the one author I would most like to meet. But, I can not tell you how much I love the book, Die Softly. It is wonderful, yet horrifieing at the same time. Christopher Pike knows how to put the horror in the book, without ruining the story. Thank you Christopher Pike, and thanks to this bookstore, I can know shop on-line for the books I love

Summary: All I can say is WOW!
Review: I thought this book was excellent. I've read other books by Pike and this is one of his best! If you haven't read this book, you really should.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I've been into his books since last summer and Ive gotten to be very obssessed with his books and I found it interesting when i read that the death of a cheerleader had happened and they didnt exactly understand how and Herb had been interested in taking a couple of pictures of the cheerleaders when they were taking showers and actually got a hold of pictures of how maybe that cheerleader was murdered before tha car accident... this book was great it had alot of confusion on who dunnit and everything you would barely guess who did I give it 5 stars because it was great and gave you enough details and all to understand the story it wasnt provoking at all if it was well that why its a young adult novel!! It was still a great book another masterpiece for Mr. Pike!

Summary: Yeeee...
Review: It may be just me, but I didn't like this book just because of the focus on the scummiest of human nature. People lying to cover their butts, sinking deeper into despair, drugs messing with people's minds, digging themselves in deeper and deeper...yick. It just creeps me out...

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Just say no to drugs and women
Review: Let me start by saying that I read this book when I was in Jr. high, and yet, so many years later, I still consider it to be one of the best horror books for adolescents, though perhaps that is not saying much. For its genre, I would give it a five, but compared with a million other books, it deserves only a three and a half. It is better than many adult books, sadly.

SPOILERS

Die Softly is about Herb, a senior high school student who is in love with Alexa Close. He has a best friend Theo, who likes to shoot at coke cans which perhaps he pretends are a particular classmate he hates, a coke addict named Lisa, Alexa's best friend. Herb and Theo also have another friend named Samantha (Sammie) Smith, who has an intense dislike for the cheerleaders at their highschool, particularly Alexa and Lisa, and advises Herb to humiliate them by taking pictures of the cheerleaders while in the shower. Herb happens to be an aspiring photographer.
He feels guilty at being a peeping Tom, yet Herb's curiosity takes over.
The day after Herb sets up his camera in the shower room, there is a horrible car accident involving Lisa. It appears that, while being high on coke, she careened off a cliff, and went up in flames. This accident is eerily like an accident involving Theo's older brother Roger, six monthes ago, involving the same cliff and the same drug. Theo always felt that his brother's "accident" was Lisa's fault because she was the one addicted to cocaine and was not exactly the best influence on anyone. By the way, Alexa and Lisa are referred to as the "sugar sisters". Now Lisa has died in exactly the same way.
When Herb gets the pictures in his camera developed, he learns something else. Maybe Lisa really didn't get into an accident. Maybe she was killed in the showers and then her murderer placed her in her car and shoved her car off the cliff in order to cover up the crime.
Christopher Pike writes well for teenagers, as long as they don't mind the sick plots, but I find his stories to be very much like various movies and television shows. For books, they are, for the most part, at a lower level, but the plots are actually pretty good. And he does have some great dialogue and interesting characters.
