Review: This is my first koontz novel and I thought it was really good. The ending was disapointing but other than that it was a good read. I have read the reviews and from what I read this is the worst so I am really looking forward to his other books

Review: I was very disappointed with this book. It is definately not one of his better ones. It is almost a waste of ink and paper. Watch the movie with Barbera Hershey, it doesn't take as much time out of your life.

Review: Dean Koontz reaches a low with this uninvolving cautionary tale of how technology can evolve on its own. Koontz has a wonderful idea here (this is the only book I know that is told from the point of view of a computer), but it turns out to be preachy with an awful ending that dissapoints to say the least.

Summary: Come on, we know he can do better than this.
Review: I read this book about a month ago, and finished it in about two hours--not because it was a great read (because it certainly wasn't), but because it was so simply written and basic. I am a BIG Koontz fan but this was definitely one of the worst I've read from him ever. Luckily he's gotten better since he wrote this one.

Review: I think this is the worst book ever written by Dean Koontz. The main idea of the book is really great, but the writing is so horrible. Dean Koontz uses too many movie stars' names and the it feels like Dean Koontz was in a hurry to end the book. I expected Dean Koontz to be a better writer than that!

Review: This book wasn't the best, but it was worth reading because it was a QUICK read... only about 200 pages. It was more funny than scary or suspenseful, actually. I never realized until now that Dean Koontz was so good at comedy. If you thought this book was funny, read TickTock. If you're looking for a thriller, though, read The Bad Place.

Review: I didn't read this book in 1973, but I did see the movie. So, you have to consider was this a viable book in 1973 with the technology at that time? Would this have been scarey in 1973? Sure would have been! In 1973 this book was ahead of its time. Now, 25 years later? But hey, it was a quick read and it made my flight go by that much faster. The movie was a bit different - better ending. The baby survives!
