Summary: This was a fantastic book, very cleverly written
Review: Dean Koontz is a wonderful writer and this is an outstanding example of his work. Perhaps not what one expects exactly, after having read his numerous other novels, but the change of pace was brilliantly executed. The ending was fantastic, you could really feel the arrogance and the sheer contempt that the computer character exhibited towards its human masters and my advice is, if you wish to read a novel which will scare the hell out of you, this is it.

Summary: Couldn't put it down.
Review: I'm not one for books so a story has to interest me alot for me to actually read the whole book. I haven't read much of Koontz to compare it to his others, but this book was awesome. The ending was, contrary to some other reviews above, a great ending. Buy it, read it, enjoy it.

Summary: Not a bad book but preferred his original
Review: I have to admit that this ranks as one of his worst books, considering it was a reprint of the original 1973 book which was fantastic.

I have read the original again and again and is a lot more beleivable than the reprint. For avid readers I suggest getting hold of a copy of the original - fantastic!

Summary: Well...
Review: I read Demon Seed, my first Koontz book, in 1 day. I enjoyed it, it passed the time at work, but it was no masterpiece. I like all the references to famous people and movies (I am somewhat of a movie fanatic myself). Unlike most of the reviewers here, I understood the ending and liked it. This is a good book to read if you have a 3 hour plane trip or just wanna kill some time.

Summary: _Great book_
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. Its only con was that it ended too quickly. Unlike others I thought that the ending was great and it told everythig it needed to. All in all a fine work from Koontz... Again.

Summary: Revision is not always a good thing.
Review: I love Dean Koontz but this particular book was much more terrifying in its original version. I just did not think it was "believable"; all things considered.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Fast but disappointing
Review: I was very disappointed in this book - especially the ending. Thankfully, a friend gave it to me so I paid nothing for it. It was a fast read but I couldn't wait for it to be over. I much more enjoyed Dragon Tears and would suggest that book instead.

Summary: this time, the master failed...
Review: Dean Koontz is my idol when it comes to SF, but this is, so far his worse book... He still is the best though, go read his other masterpieces, and leave this one out. Dean, what happened here????????

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It Rules
Review: I liked the book a lot, except the end which ends the book with the word the. Which really does not make any sense.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not up to his usual storytelling, but I still love his work.
Review: I read this book just because of who he is. I was a little disappointed by its lack of character depth. But everyone has to have a bad day and I look forward to his next book with anticipation.
