Summary: Gives a whole new meaning to the term "pale rider."
Review: Just when you thought everything had been written and filmed that could be about vampires, The Cowboy and the Vampire comes along and injects new blood (pun intended) into dead matter. This story is a romp, a hoot, a gallop, a joy. Just the munitions science alone for combating vampires is a welcome change from the garlic, the crucifix and the wooden stake. And the romance? Let's just say until you've done it with a vampire, you haven't lived. Or is that died? The story starts out with Lizzie Vaughan, a journalist, doing a story on the last real cowboy, then heading back to New York with more than love in her eye. Unbeknownst to her she has the bloodlines to be the vampire Queen that the undead have been waiting 700 years for. All she needs to be is "turned." Pursued by vampires, she heads back to Wyoming and her cowboy and that's where the story really takes off. There are battles of will, battles of flesh and blood, a war between two different factions of vampires, and a treatise on just what is God's intention for vampire evil among the good and evil of the living. Even Lazarus, the man Jesus rose from the dead, plays a major role. Horror is not my usual genre. Nor are Westerns. But put the two together and you've got something that rises up out of the grave and makes great reading. The plot is so good and original, this book has movie written all over it.

Summary: Action, action action with all the modern trimmings.
Review: Let us not mince words. The Cowboy and the Vampire is a great read. It neatly filled in the five hours from New York to LA, during which, in fact, I thought I spotted Tucker way back in the last row. Poor old Snort. Still, I expect that Tucker, his owner and an authentic cowboy, will ride into the morning sunrise on another neat horse, along with his comely vampire. Lenny, the Montana semi-hermit who can fix anything and knows just about all there is to know about practical stuff, follows a long line of American jack-of-all-trades. Usually they've been from New England and he's the first one that I've heard about from the upper mid-west. But he was a natural for the Santa Fe meltdown. All in all, The Cowboy and the Vampire is near the top of the heap for action novels.

Summary: A great blend of Romance, Comedy and Horror that works!
Review: Lizzie (Queen of the Vampires) from New York City and Tucker (real life Cowboy) from LonePine, Wyoming meet by chance and fall deeply in love. But to stay together they must deal with scores of Vampires, some good and some bad. A great cast of characters that you won't soon forget. Hey Guys... don't let the Romance scare you away from this book, it's not sappy at all. A very enjoyable read! Highly recommended!!
To the authors Clark Hays & Kathleen Mcfall... Thank you. Please give us more fun reads.

Summary: Starts slowly, but then hang on
Review: Okay, I recommend that you read at least 50 pages before giving up on a book. I was going to quit after fifteen pages, but then I gave it another shot. It gets much better. If you are into a chuckle from vampires, with a dash of grossness from the blood, this is for you. It seems that there is an excellent set up for a sequel.

Summary: A very easily read book, filled with lust and humor.
Review: The humor level is scalding in this book, I found myself laughing aloud several times. Combine this cynical, often dry humor with the mystery of Vampirism, romance, and tawdry sex and you have a wonderful combination that is easily read and absorbed. I enjoyed the book greatly. --Besides, who doesnt love cowboys? -- *smile*

Summary: Ya-Hoooooo
Review: The title of this book is right on the mark, very unusual indeed! This is a great book that combines horror, vampires, mystery and a little romance.

Lizzie, the city girl falls for Tucker, the cowboy while on a literary assignment. As Lizzie heads back to NY to cover another story, she leaves Tucker behind with promises of return. Little does Lizzie know that if people get their way, she will never come back. Searching for Lizzie is a group of vampires that believe she is their "Queen" and want her "royal" blood. If Lizzie doesn't submit to them, she will die. Lizzie runs, Tuckers tries to rescue and a vampire war starts amid love and the end of the world.

It's an interesting concept, and I'm hoping for a sequel. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Summary: Definetly worth the reading.
Review: This book is not usually the type of book that I read. A friend gave me a copy and I started reading it. It started out slow, but after the third chapter I was absorbed. I enjoyed reading it and felt that it gave a nice twist to the vampire legend. I live in Wyoming where we have real cowboys, I was offended at first because they made the cowboy seem so unintelligent. I did get used to the idea, but I could be offended if I was a cowboy. They did portray the life that a cowboy leads very closely to how they live in our state. I also loved the ending. This was a book that kept me wondering clear to the last page. Definitly worth the reading.
