Rating: Summary: Spellbound is an immaculately composed novel!! Review: This book was created by one of many great authors. Christopher Pike is his name, and spectacular novels are his game. I have read numerous novels by this author, and this book is by far one of the best. Spellbound will glue you to your seat, while taking you on an adventurous thrill-ride! The suspense this book contains is enough to not only knock your socks off, but spin your head around with fantastic detail. During the period of time that I read this book, with it's incredible detail, I kept visualizing everything happening. First "this", and then "that," and then... "WHOA! Where'd that come from?" And if you've guessed that I'm strongly recommending this book, you've guessed absolutely right! Like I said before, this is an immaculately composed novel! In my opinion, I guess you could say this book sort of has a mind of it's own... =)

Rating: Summary: Christopher Pike, a true page turner Review: This is the first work of Christopher Pike that I read. It turned me into a true fan and kept me coming back and waiting for more. This book has everything, from well developed characters, and plot line to suspense and surprise. Anyone who has read any of his other later works, will surely enjoy this earlier one. For all his books are wonderful and will keep you turning the pages.
Rating: Summary: Boring as can be Review: This was the first Christopher Pike book I ever read, and it spawned an addiction (or obsession depending on how you look at it!) It filled me with both fear and surprise. I found it intruiging, and powerful. It filled the void in my reading, as I had been looking for a long time for something, and didn't know what, this was it. The creativity of the "beast" in this book was exceptional, and it was a different, and more powerful writing style that I had ever found before. Pike's style is wonderful and captavating, and I love each and every one of his works. The setting is perfect, and the story is magical, it left me with chills. I couldn't put the book down! I recommend this book to everyone, get to know one of the greatest writers of the 20th century!

Rating: Summary: Entertaining fluff Review: This young adult novel is a strange mix of elements from better established genres for adults. It has the "violent killer on the loose" angle of a lot of modern thrillers, and the romance of a Harlequin (sans steamy sex scenes). It also has the feel of a traditional whodunit, with a limited cast of characters serving as suspects, and a bevy of carefully calculated plot twists and turns.
I won't give away any plot details that others haven't already spoiled, but it's safe to say that it has the feeling of a modern young adult serial tv show, such as "Cold Mountain" or "Smallville." The young adults are heroes, and their triumphs and tribulations are very character-centric and dramatic.
I suppose I would say that this is a light, forgettable book that won't do much to improve your mind. However, it succeeds on the level of light entertainment, and might appeal to someone who hasn't cultivated a love of reading. It doesn't ask much of the reader, and the straightforward writing is clear, easy to follow, and enjoyably paced.
If you are a young reader who was in love with a series like The Babysitter's Club, or The Three Investigators, this might be an ideal stepping stone to more adult reading.
