Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I'm writing this about halfway through the book, and I'm not really sure if I'm going to finish it. It lacks a certain something. I'm not finding myself sucked in. I'm not caring about his characters. His characters don't seem particularly interesting to me even. I'm not even sure if Colleen has a real personality at all that I can pinpoint. Jeff Stancheck is okay. Nothing against him. But he doesn't do much for me as a reader. I can see that the author did a good deal of research into the gothic subculture. I was actually expecting him to at least have some focus on some of the goths as main characters. And I mean someone sympathetic, not Gabrielle. While it seems he did a lot of research about goths, I almost get the idea that the author doesn't think much of them. None of the main characters really understand the subculture at all. A lot of goths really do like vampires. Not all. And I think most people (goths being people, last I checked) would be horrified, and completely turned off, at the way these vampires treat people. All in all, not particularly believable as far as character motivations, and not particularly exciting.
Rating: Summary: scary fun Review: The vampire world was well created and enjoyed how the author tied their lifestyles into modern day Chicago. Times when it can be creepy and best to keep a light on while reading it after sunset.

Rating: Summary: A fun read Review: While it is a very enjoyable read it was nothing new. And what was the deal with every goth wanting to be vampire?
