Rating: Summary: Stylish Horror! Review: Role-playing in a dark modern world designed for mature players. This game is simply incredible, and this is the book that introduces you to the World of Darkness. I would also strongly recommend Mage and Werewolf!
Rating: Summary: very thrilling book Review: This is a one-time experience for you to enjoy by playing the role of a vampire and to try to escape the problems of your character and not being noticed by vampire hunters and mortals.
Rating: Summary: This book helped me alot cause I play this online. Review: This book has got to be as easy as 1,2,3. It has very valuable information on the Kindred society and the Sabath. It makes it easy for storytellers to tell stories with this book out on the market. If you ever want to do a good RPG game. THIS is it!
Rating: Summary: Why V:TM is the greatest RPG to date Review: What makes V:TM so incredible is probably the fact that it is such a personal game. Unlike previous RPGs, like D&D, which were based on rolling dice to see who could kill the Red Dragon, in Vampire's system, you're required to think about HOW to kill the dragon, and perhaps more importantly WHY you want to. Wanton violence in this game leads to a loss of humanity, and insanity. This game also forces you to explore the darker regions of your psyche, and lets you realize things about yourself. Sometimes, these are things you may have not intended, but it invariably works out for the better. I recommend this book in a heartbeat to all those unafraid to look in the mirror to see the truth about the things that go bump in the night...but only if they aren't afraid to see themselves inside.
Rating: Summary: Very user-friendly, intuitive and easy to expand. Review: A must-have for all the players of RPG. The system places the focus on the characters, not the sheet. Very user-friendly, intuitive. And if you are one of those players who like very realistic and complex actions, it is very easy to expand the system to any level of complexity.
Rating: Summary: The best ROLE-playing system I've found Review: I've always been a die-hard proponent of Dungeons & Dragons. However, after I was finally talked into playing this, I had to admit that this system is better. There is much more room for actually playing the personalities of the characters, and in fact the entire system of character creation is geared toward that end. Also, unlike D&D, powers and skills are loosely defined so that use of them allows for a great deal of creativity. This makes combat much less restricted. For those who like slam-'em, bang-'em action, the fights inspire a greater feeling of reality than "I rolled an 18 plus 3; seven points of damage to the ogre." I still love Dungeons and Dragons for the "high fantasy" feel of the game (as opposed to this game, being based in our world), but now I wish that TSR's system were more like this one.
Rating: Summary: Into That Dark Night.... Review: Few role-playing games measure up to the grittiness and quality of White Wolf's Vampire: The Masquerade. Set in a Gothic-Punk World of Darkness rapidly spiraling toward armageddon, you are one of the race of vampires, called Kindred. In this world, Kindred have permeated every aspect of human society, protected from discovery by a veil of secrecy known as the Masquerade. Ancient vampires manipulate younger Kindred like pawns on a chess board. The young grab desperately for power, at the cost of their humanity and their souls. In the ancient chess game of the manipulator and the manipulated, known as the Jyahd, you, the player, must weigh the ramifications of your actions in this game of personal horror. Contemplate well. You have an eternity to decide. But your soul might not...
Rating: Summary: The BEST role-playing game in existence! Review: Going beyond the old "roll-the-dice" role-playing games, "Vampire: The Masquerade" plunges players into the World of Darkness, where 13 clans of vampires plot and scheme. Create a vampire and follow the path to salvation . . . or sink into the depths of evil. As a role-playing game or as simple reading, "Vampire: The Masquerade" and its supplements are a definite must-buy, whether you believe in vampires or not!
Rating: Summary: An almost great Roleplaying Game Review: The game is easy to play, easy to learn and in no time you can dive into the Gothic Punk Horror of Vampire. Artwork is good to set the mood, however histories don't get too in depth. I like how the character can do other things than just bash people over the head with clubs.
Rating: Summary: Timon Garretson's Official Review Review: Vampire: The Masquerade. A compelling story of the mythical vampire creatures. Often deemed to be an evil game by those of society who are afriad to be so bold as to play a game such as this, I have not and probably will not see any evil in this game. Of course if immature or pyschologically "wrong" people read this and decide that they want to carry the game too far that is not the book's fault, now is it? Well this is great but unlike it's counter part AD&D it is somewhat limited in my opinion, yet it is a better live action game than AD&D. This RPG is great in the sense that social values are inlcuded in the playing of the characters which makes the outcomes and the characters seem more real. So raise a glass of wine and say cheers to this marvelous as well as intriguing game.
