Rating: Summary: A very successful sequel! Review: Alison Parker,Kipp Coughlan, Brenda Paxson, Joan Zuchlensky, Tony Hunt, and Fran Darey are once again threatened by a mysterious force sending the anonymous chain letters. The trouble starts when Tony and Alison fight about whether Alison's going to NYU or not. Tony meets a new friend in the mall and gets her number. Later, that night, he calls her and they go over her house and hide. Alison and a unknown boy are together and, like many misunderstandings, Tony gets pissed. Suddenly all hell breaks loose, and two more teens in the group are killed horribly. Alison breaks the evil chain with her everlasting love and kind heart. But to find out the gory details, read the book.
Rating: Summary: Sequel's just got better! Review: Christopher Pike is an amazing writer, and this book portrays that as well as all of his other books. This book is so sad, and so wonderful. It is a must read. All Christopher Pike books are must reads. Let this book take you. I assure you, you will not be dissapointed.
Rating: Summary: "The chain letter returned like a curse." Review: Even though the Caretaker (Neil Hurly) died in the previous book, the remaining six high school graduates--except for Alison Parker--start receiving the same kind of chain letter from someone who claims to be the Caretaker. Again, most everyone thinks it's someone playing a sick joke. But when two of them are brutally killed because they refused to follow the Caretaker's orders, the remaining friends are in a hurry to unmask the identity of the killer before s/he has a chance to kill again. (The identity of the Caretaker is relatively easy to guess because of some of the clues and added characters.)"The Ancient Evil" is more of a supernatural horror book than "Chain Letter," involving things like the occult/Satanism, which the other book had none of. The Caretaker's instructions in this book are a lot more violent, too--like drown your puppy, burn your sister's arm, and cut off your finger. Because of these things, "The Ancient Evil" is a little better than the first, in my opinion. Plus this book answers some of the questions about the man in the desert they accidentally killed. The ending here is also more up to Pike's style than how the first "Chain Letter" ended. This is definitely a must-read if you read and enjoyed the first book in this series.
Rating: Summary: Blood and gore all the way! Review: Exellent book! My favorite by Pike. I loved the character Sasha, she was pure evil. My favorite part was when Fran got decapitated. That was the best. The ending, I thought, was kind of corny, with Tony carring Alison in his arms, but it was still good. Pike should write more books like that. Too bad there wasn't a third book in the series...
Rating: Summary: ~*THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!*~ Review: I am a BIG horror fan, soo take it from me. this is definately the best and scariest book i've ever read. the plot is really good and it'll keep you guessing for a long time... the best part of this book is waiting to see what the characters "deed" is..for example fran's "deed" was to drown her precious puppie! but she didn't soo she died! wanna know wat happens to the other characters and their "deeds".. THEN READ IT!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of Christopher Pike's Best Review: I have read the most part of Christopher Pike's book and the sequel to Chain Letter scores high on my all time faves by him. He uses his amazing imagination to stir up a new conflict for the teens who have been to hell and back...but he's making them go back for a second time. It's full of adventure, horror, and suspense. Read it!
Rating: Summary: a disgustingly satisfying book, better than the first one! Review: I really liked this book. It was so much nastier then the first one, which held my attention. It's also more suspenseful and the perpetrator of the chain letter is pure evil. I love how that character is written! If u read Chain Letter, you should read this book. It's so much better. And if you havent read it, read the sequel anyways. The story explains itself.
Rating: Summary: This book has a surprising twist. Review: I think that this story is really interesting and you'll like it because it has a unforgettable twist to the story. It starts out by a murder and then a group of teenagers recieve threatening letter that states them to do a horrible deed. When they decide to ignore it one dies. They decide to complete the deeds and still they die. They must now find the keeper of the leeters and destroy him before he kills them.
Rating: Summary: It was, ok Review: I thought that Chain Letter was one of Pike's best books but the second one was nothing compared to the first. The ending was very disapointing. It was really, really sad, but too- i don't want to say disapointing, but it was. the story wasn't that good and people died just like that without a chance to try and save them. in all, i didn't like it.
Rating: Summary: the first was better Review: i thought that the chain letter 1 was a lot better, it made more sense.. seemed that it could happen, but of course it didn't. this book seemed too far fetched.. but during the whole book, i just kept feeling sad and more sad for alison and neil
