Summary: SUSPENSE FILLED COMEDY SUCKED
Review: Let me say this. This is my first dean koontz book I've read and let me tell you I'm not impressed. The starting hundred pages are fast pace relentless suspense. But after that it becomes this comedy thriller witch I did not like. The carachters were well drawn and there was some good suspense but the ending SUCKED.I felt like he took the easy way out and just made up any old ending. That was the huge flaw of the book. It was like he coud'nt find a sutiable ending so he just gave a bad one. The only thing that kept me from giving this a 1 was del. The mysterious heat packing woman that can kick any demons ass blindfolded. The mystery to her was the best put when I found out why she's so wierd its disapointing. She was the best part of the book.Mr koontz im about to start intesity and I hope that its better then this juckass story

Summary: A literary bag of potato chips
Review: If literature is diversion, "Ticktock" fits the bill. Koontz's novel is a fast, light and humorous read that makes no attempt to bog the reader down with half-baked philosophy or superfluous detail. I wouldn't go so far as to call this one of Koontz's best efforts, but his characterizations are excellent (especially Scootie and Del) and his villain's metamorphoses are enough to keep the reader interested. This is just the book to read immediately before or after delving into a large non-fiction tome

Summary: Ticktock? Story of two books
Review: Sure, I read this book in about 12 hours. It is very short and very easy to read. The first one quarter of the book actually had me ready to pee my pants, but then the book took a different direction, and seemed stupid. Sure, I enjoyed the book, but I totally expected it to be different. I liked the mood in the begenning. Very scary and suspenseful. Then all this weird stuff later in the book about aliens, and that magical dog. That is too silly

Summary: Humor and suspense,I think it would make a great movie.
Review: I enjoyed reading about a smart woman that knew how to take control of the situation. The mystery surrounding her kept me wanting to read more. I loved the way she seemed to be always one step ahead of the doll thing. I liked seeing the the Vietnamese culture added also. I could really see Tommy's mother in my mind. Part of the time I wanted to slap her and other times I wanted to hug her. I really felt sorry for Tommy though, his head must have been spinning trying to keep up with Del.
The humor thrown in does wonders for Dean R.Koontz. He never ceases to amaze me. Has to be one of his better books.

Summary: It's been done before, and better
Review: Friends had told me about Dean Koontz. Unfortunately, this is the first one of his books I've read. I wish I'd read his afterword before I started. The best part of the book is the narrator's relationship with his mother, although it is shopworn, too. Really now, this has all been done before, and a whole lot better. It seemed he didn't have a good idea, but needed to write, so he was doing something more interesting for the other hours of his day. Reader's Digest would have been a better reading choice

Summary: Nice try, but no banana.
Review: I've been reading lots of Dean Koontz books lately, right after getting so high on Intensity.Most of them, proved to be disappointing compared to that very scary aforementioned book.
Ticktock is one of the best, I'm afraid. That doesn't mean it's good, though. It's certainly entertaining, but the journey's only worth the ride because of Del. She rocks. Tommy's nice, but it seems to me that Dean's dressed an old cliche with some new clothing, though.
I'm only giving it a six because I've enjoyed Del, Tommys mother, and that other vietnamese lady, and some of the dialogue, which was quirky.

Review: From the opening pages to the dramatic conclusion,
this book will not let you down. My pulse was racing and my palms were sweating. I could not turn the pages quickly enough. Koontz' little monster scared the pants off me.

Review: I thought that Koontz did a good job with his choice of publishing this book. I thought that the far out concept of demons and UFO's and the "All American Dream" was portrayed beautifully. I also thought that he did a good job creating the main characters in the story, they were humorous when he put them all together

Summary: A Funny Horror Story? Yes!
Review: If you are willing to release your grasp on reality long enough to get into this book you will be rewarded with a delightful, if somewhat strange story. The characters are very likable, the dog is adorable (I'm partial to black labs), and the story is fast paced. Even the author's notes are good. Dean Koontz explains that the reason this book came out in paperback without first being published as a hardcover is because he felt the story was too short to expect readers to pay hardcover pricess. Thank you Mr. Koontz. You have made one more loyal fan. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but Ticktock is such a good story it is worth a hardcover price. I feel like I got a real good deal
