Summary: Horror and comedy lite
Review: The more I read this story, the more I realized the author didn't take this very seriously. That's fine as it's supposed to be a light read. Good action scenes early on but the comedy was lame and the characters were one dimensional. Can't this author write about someone beyond wealthy Californians (who never seem to have jobs) and their 100 IQ dogs?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AWESOME! Murder, mystery and humor in one neat package.
Review: I have read all of Dean Koontz's books. I love all of his books but this one was so refreshing I've read it four times. It still contains his awesome imagination yet shows us a light humor side of him that he doesn't normally use in his books. I would love to see more like this one!!!

Summary: I felt that this was a superb, very detailed book.
Review: The book I read was called Tick, Tock by Dean Koontz. The genre of this impressive book is fantasy, with lots of action. When a man named Tommy goes home from dinner, he finds a rag doll on his doorstep. He takes it in, thinking nothing of it. Little does he know that the doll is evil, and he finds that out when the doll pops out of it's cloth skin and becomes a living beast. It chases Tommy around his house, but he finally escapes. He is now on the run from the doll, which has takes the body of a good semeritan. Along the way he meets a beautiful, mysterious woman that wants to be part of this adventure. He doesn't iknow whether he will make it or not, but you'll have to read the book to find out.

Summary: Captain Koontz's Big Bag 'o Trite 'n Cheese
Review: The characters are one-dimentional and the writing very childish ("First he did this.. then the monster chased him.. then he did this.. then the monster chased him.." etc.). Also be prepared for an overload of such literary gems as "it screamed shrilly like an electronic oscilation" - if you can imagine.

What I find interesting about this book is that it was lent to me by a friend who thought it was wonderful. Different strokes, I guess.

Review: IT RULED! VERY FUNNY AND SUSPENCEFUL

Summary: wonderful
Review: I love this book, and consider it one of Koontz's best because it's not serious in any way. You can tell it's just a big joke, and Mr. Koontz even says so in the author's note. Great fun and a big mish-mash of all the author's previous novels (voodoo elements from Darkfall, the phrase "dead before dawn. ticktock" taken directly from Dragon Tears, the superintelligent alien dog, a parody of Watchers, etc.). It seems the people who gave this book bad reviews took it way too seriously. Loosen up, enjoy the book.

Summary: True Koontz fans will love tongue-in-cheek terror!
Review: BD Wong does a wonderful job in narrating the story. His interpretation of "Del" is hillarious. Having been to Vietnam for four years and married to a Vietnamese for 25 years I truly enjoyed the book very much. Much tongue-in-cheek terror and humor! Different than most of his books as he seems to have more fun with the characters - especially Del and her labrador. The hotdog toy that farts is a trip. The only criticism I have is the mention of Vietnamese language in ideogram! Vietnamese was converted over from ideogram to roman characters with diacritical marks by Fr. Alexandre Rhodes in the late 1800's and formally took over in the early 20's - very few people - even the elderly today can read the old ideogram version. Just a slight mistake - did not distract from the story at all. Very few would have caught it. My wife's mother is so much like Tommy's that it is uncanny! Great listen and read. Enjoy!

Summary: If there were only a 0 star choice
Review: This novel is one of the worst pieces of tripe I have ever been subjected to. The plot elements are random and unconnected, the ending is ridiculous, and the overall reading experience was more embarassing than enjoyable. The plot is childlike in construction, without a hint of the sophistication indicated by the cover notes.

I wouldn't have been able to finish it at all, had it not been for the fact that I'd bought the audio book (to survive a long drive) and I could find little else to do.

I am regretful that this is the first Koontz book I've read, because it's not likely I'll ever pick up another after this experience.

Summary: Not the best works of D-Koontz, but pretty good.
Review: This book was definetly different from D-Koontz's other books. It still remains in the catagory of "on the edge of your seat", but not at the same level. I enjoyed the chase throughout the book (although it was a little "TOO" intense) and the comical side of it. D-Koontz is still my all time favorite author.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The chase scenes were Dean Koontz's best.
Review: I've always been a fan of Dean Koontz's work, but most of his books start off slow. "Tick, Tock" was an exception to this. The story picked up pace almost immediately from the beginning and hardly ever slowed down. The book lost a star because of the abrupt ending. It seemed liked it was a forced climax. Kind of disappointing at the end.
