Rating: Summary: Nicoletta and Jethro Share a Secret... Review: "The Stranger" was a very well written book. Although some people found the plot hard to follow, it was not a difficult storyline. The reader must be familiar with Ms. Cooney's language, because if you are not, you might find yourself lost among her intricate form. Nicoletta, a teen in high school, is depressed. For years, she had the hope of being a Madrigal (which is her group of friends, as well has her singing group at school) during her years at high school. Bringing her friends and memories, singing gave her the opportunity to escape the lives, normal lives, that so many people are used to. In a heart- breaking scene (which happens to be in the first chapter), Nicoletta finds herself alone, without the part of being a Madrigal that year. She is forced to enter a new class, and there, she meets Jethro, a stranger that draws her to him as if there was a mysterious force pulling her. The plot goes into her need, her love for Jethro, and her determination that drives her to keep his secret. Jethro holds a powerful secret that can either destroy lives or save them. If only Nicolette knew what to do- follow her heart... or face it. Personally, I loved this book. It had a hynotizing way of drawing the reader in, and overall, it was wonderful. Unfortunately, there were a few disappointing parts, but the author had her reasons, and I respect that. I would definitely read this book again. Enjoy!

Rating: Summary: great for teen horror fans Review: A really great book. Elegantly written with great imagery. And a great story. If you enjony Fear Street and Christopher Pike you should enjoy this book. this is the only book I've read by this author but it's made me want to read her other ones.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing Read Review: i agree with people when they say that this storyline is a bit different than most but those familiar with the writing style of caroline b. cooney would know and appreciate this remarkable book. i read this a good 5+ years ago and just finally got a copy of my own and i can honestly say that i never get tired of reading it. its isn't so much a horror or suspense novel but one of intriguing plot and characters. well, what else can i say but read it for yourself. this book got me to go and read the rest of this author's writing, its great
Rating: Summary: The STRANGER is Great! Review: I had read The Stranger about 2 years ago, and I remember it as only being excellent. It shows that love can overthrow even ugliness, and that it is everlasting.
Rating: Summary: A painful experience Review: I have a mad love of YA horror, particularly Stine, Klause, Hahn, and Coville (read Eyes of the Tarot and Waiting Spirits - they're brilliant examples of the genre). I also loved the first two books in the Face on the Milk Carton series by Cooney. But. This is hands down one of the worst five books I've ever read. Everything about it is bad. It oozed badness. It seeped baditude. Poorly written, poorly plotted, massively poor characterization - every character is a piece of cardboard, and by the last painful turn of the page I was begging for an icepick through the eye. Awful. Just awful. Please, Ms. Cooney, PLEASE...stick to writing about Janie.
Rating: Summary: I thought this book was excellent! Review: I have just finished reading this book and thought it was outstanding! Nicoletta was very brave and was a great role model.
Rating: Summary: This book is great! - Rachele Review: I just finished this book and I thought it was one of the best books I ever read! I read it in one night. I am shocked that anyone could even consider putting this book down! How dare someone insult such a wonderful book! Read it for yourself and you'll understand why I liked it so much.
Rating: Summary: A can't put down book!! Review: I love and I usually only read Caroline B. Cooney's books. At first I thought that it wasn't one of hers.... it was different. As I got into it I just couldn't put it down! It was a great book!!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: I read this book about a month ago. Now I'm doing a project on it to get other people to read it. This book is a book that keeps you awake. I couldn't put the book down. It's a great romance. And it shows that looks are not all for you to fall in love but it's the heart that counts.
