Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS PURE TERROR Review: I read this book around the time it came out when I was 12 years old. It had a tremendous effect on me. Not only was I nearly paralyzed with terror at the descriptions, but I began to wonder if the same thing had happened to me. I wondered if I too had repressed memories. I see people have written that this book started a whole wave of SRA confessions, but all I can say is for many months, I would lie rigid in my bed waiting for the devil to take me away. Its intense power, whether fact or fiction, cannot be denied. Yikes!
Rating: Summary: Astounding and Memorable Review: I read this book as a teenager 20 years ago - and I still remember it. This book literally scared the hell out of me (not a bad thing for a teenager, or anyone, when referring to "hell" in the literal sense - I plan to have my teenagers read it). Satan is a real entity just as God is. Reading "Michelle Remembers" made me realize that I need to work towards heaven because hell is where I don't want to go.
Rating: Summary: scary stuff Review: I read this book in 1985, I was 15 at the time. I have to admit that when I first read it I found it difficult to beleive these horrors could be true. A few months later I went to Victoria to stay with my aunt for a few months. During this time I met some people who at one time belonged to this satanic coven that Michelle speaks of. I asked them questions about things that I had read in Michelle's book. I was expecting them to say that she lied or over exagerrated. Much to my surprise they confirmed her testimony. I was also told that many people who work in Victoria parlaiment belong to the church.
Rating: Summary: SACRY TO THINK WHAT HUMANS CAN DO IN THE NAME OF A DIETY Review: I READ THIS BOOK WHEN IT WAS FIRST PRINTED . AND TO ANY ONE WHO THINKS THAT THIS STARTED A WAVE OF "SRA I MUST SAY YOU ARE NOW BEING MISS-LED "SRA" HAD BEEN IN THE MEDIA LONG BEFORE THIS BOOK WAS PRINTED. ALSO WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS LITTLE GIRL WAS IN SOME WAY REAL I DO-NOT THINK SHE FULLY MADE UP OR IMAGENED THESE THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO HER. BUT THAT SOME OF THESE THINGS WERE IN FACT TRUE. THE ONLY REAL THING TO SEE IS IF THE ADULTS INVOLVED WERE REALLY INTO SATANIC WORSHIP OR IF THEY JUST SAID THIS AS A RUSE TO CONFUSE AND SCARE THE CHILD INTO NOT TELLING. THE ONLY THING I DO KNOW IS THAT AFTER READING THE BOOK SOME OF SATANS FORTELLINGS DID HAPPEN A THE TIME OF READING WHICH WAS ENOUGH TO GIVE ME THE CHILLS.
Rating: Summary: very interesting Review: i really got into this book, it was interesting. I cried for the little girl. I dont believe the events that took place in this book really happened, because i dont believe in satan. but all the same, i still love a good book & this book was incredible. I give rave reviews for this book & if you know of any like this one let me know!!!
Rating: Summary: Metaphysics for Dummies Review: It's not surprising that there are literal-minded, dichotomous thinkers who like this stuff. It is more disheartening that people with doctoral and medical degrees and board certification in psychiatry fell for it. For example, the top psychiatrists at the Rush-Pres. St Luke's Dissociative Disorders Unit in Chicago (before it was sued out of existence) perpetrated SRA on people who should themselves have known better. If you like easy answers (devil causes all evil, childhood abuse causes all emotional discomfort) this is the book for you. The miracle here is how Michelle, Dr Pazder, and the incompetent ghost writer managed to make lurid tales of abuse so deadly dull.
Rating: Summary: Michelle, Unwell... Review: Let it be said at the outset that while I'm sure there are black masses, Wicca gatherings, and even Satanism rituals, I don't believe that Satan attends. Sorry. Not only did Satan attend Michelle's robed orgies, but his tail left a mark on her neck and his picture was actually taken on film. Now, if you believe that, you may be able to swallow the rest of the stuff in the book - that is, if you can read it. The writing is even worse than the content, both wooden and confused. Hello, guys, this is the 21st Century. If you must divert yourselves with this kind of thing, there are plenty of good reads in the fantasy/horror section. Let's not pretend it's fact.
Rating: Summary: I HAVE NO DOUBTS ON THE TRUTH Review: Let me say that i have been to the house that this allegdly took place at and let me tell you that i have not seen anything as disturbing as this. The book is one of the most terrifying things i have ever read. I cannot believe that people who think that this is untrue can keep a straight face while saying it. Everyone knows that Victoria B.C. is itself , one of the most satanic bound places in the world. This is something that should not be IGNORED!!!!
Rating: Summary: Chillingly Prophetic Review: Many chilling prophecies are in this non-fiction book. Prophecies uttered by a "voice from the fire" in the 1950's, which are coming true today! This book answers the question: "What unknown forces are behind events?" I first read this book in the early 1980's. In 1954-55, Michelle was a child, forced to attend Black Masses in Victoria B.C.; during which a voice from the fire pronounced: "I write a master plan; of the Destiny of man..." December 2000: While watching a Florida election official posturing for the TV cameras, by holding ballots up to the light and turning them about, I got an urge to dig this book from the shelves. Sure enough there was a prediction of election 2000 on page 236! A prediction made by Satan himself! (in 1955) "There are numbers I despise, But I know them and they make me wise. I know what numbers are all about; I count them carefully, I turn them about. Six upside down Helps me put on my crown." Did the turmoil of that election contest play into Satan's plan? Many even more worrisome events are prophesied in the pages of this book. I predict: You'll read it once & remember it forever! Catholic Bishop Remi De Roo's statement (forward) page viii "It may well be that for people today,to hear this message coming from a five year old child is of particular significence." Every church library should have a copy. Put your copy on a top shelf, so the kids don't get nightmares from reading it. Your nightmares are your own problem. The nightmarish events predicted in this book are the world's problem.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating revelations of the dynamics of innocence Review: Michelle Remembers has within its narrative a fascinating portrayal of innocence. In the midst of what has to be the epitome of victimization, the perceptions of the small child, as the pawn in Satanic rituals, demonstrate that innocence can possess some amazing assertive qualities. The fact that innocence can be accessed in the midst of abuse and then nurtured in later years is a testimony to the dimension of the human spirit. This is not a story of mere survival. It is a story of flourishing.
