Summary: Hotter than Georgia asphalt
Review: A well-illustrated portrait of how easy it is to get swept away into the dark world of taboo and the flesh. As Ms. Faust has personal experience in the dungeon/SM world, the scenes are authentic, the mood almost tangible, and the characters fully developed and interesting. The only complaint I had was that I knew who the killer was too early into the book, so that took some of the fun out of it.

Summary: S&M Mystery
Review: Anyone who likes mystery along with the S&M world must read this book. Christa Faust writes so well that you feel like you are there with the characters. The S&M is not extreme. It is very erotic. The story takes place in New York's Village/Chelsea community. It is so real that you feel like you are there with the characters every step of the way. A must read book!

Summary: Faust's debut novel is a fast and dangerous read.
Review: CONTROL FREAK is Christa Faust's debut as a novelist, having been a short story writer the past few years. Faust definitely writes what she knows and lives. Being a professional dominatrix has given this tale an air of authenticity others have tried but not pulled off as well.

CF opens up with a girl's murder. During the investigation, it is found out that she worked in an S & M bar. One detective, Mike Kiernan, and a girlfriend-type, Caitlin McCullough are the two main characters who do the job of finding out who killed the girl and why. Each person's way of searching for the truth is as different as the lifestyles of each. Caitlin goes on to become cxaught up in the S & M scene and Mike searches the usual police procedural way. Both find the answers, but some later than others.

This novel has a very seamy underbelly and is, ultimately, about the duality of humanity. Caitlin's dominating demeanor versus her conscience of what's "right and wrong". Her development and fleshing-out as a character is pure genius and stays true to herself all the way through the book.

Faust's prose is clean, her dialogue moves the pace of the story and her realistic portrayals of the S & M and B & D lifestyles make the horrors that are unfolding almost unbearable to read about. A great debut and a worthy competitor with Caitlin Kiernan's SILK as best debut horror novel this year. Buy and read this before everyone is talking about it. Highest recommendation.

Summary: A Femme-Dom says "Thumbs-Up" !
Review: I live partially in this world and although, it went to the utmost extreme, many of the dungeon scenes were as real as it gets!

Loved the cover too !!!!

Summary: Scary and sexy!
Review: Kinky murder mystery set in the SM underground as a young woman discovers her fascination with the darker side of sexuality. Not brilliant writing, but ingenious and definitely erotic.
