Summary: Deaver's work is awesome..
Review: In all of the books I've read by Deaver he uses disability well. It is not "preachy" or heavy handed (as in Sandra Brown's new book. I only hope that if this is made into a movie that the culture of disability is not ignored as it was in the HBO version of A Maiden's Grave. HBO thought that movie watchers would not get the point of deafness so they made a Rockford Files version focusing on the cop not the main characters.

Summary: Fabulous --- Again!!!!!
Review: I'm getting hooked on these books! But I'd rather listen to them than read them. Can't wait for the audio to come out. That way my mind can create it's own pictures as the story unfolds!! I am a little disappointed that this is a new story line instead of continuing with the story left hanging in the "Bone Collector". Rather than Christopher Reeves (who is terrific, but too clean cut) as Lincoln (it might be too much for him, and he'd have to "dirty up" some), think Robert Pastorelle (of TV's Cracker and Murphy Brown). I "see" him in the role when I listen to the Bone Collector. He has that dirty, scuffed-up, hard drinking, hard living, "I hate the world" attitude about him.

Summary: Taught, well crafted thriller! Deaver has done it again.
Review: Picked up an advance copy while in England and instead of sight seeing spent a good day reading it! Although not quite as good as the first Lincoln Rhymes novel, the Bone Collector, this book answers many questions about who Lincoln Rhymes is and why! Deaver keeps one guessing! I read somewhere that Mr. Deaver doesn't like writing serial books with the same characters---hope he changes his mind and comes out with another Lincoln Rhymes novel!

MOST IMPORTANT AS I FEEL YOU MISS THE TRUE FLAVOUR OF THE WRITER BY LISTENING RATHER THAN READING. TWO: I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THESE TWO 'LINCOLN RHYMES' BOOKS WERE BEING MADE INTO A MOVIE....I TRUST THAT OUR WONDERFUL CHRISTOPHER REEVES WILL BE PLAYING THE LEAD ROLE AS IT SEEMS THAT THESE BOOKS WERE WRITTEN JUST FOR HIM!!! READER...GET OUT THERE AND GET THIS BOOK AS SOON AS IT'S AVAILABLE...YOU'LL BE IN FOR THE BEST ROLLERCOASTER RIDE OF THE SUMMER!!!

Summary: Another excellent double-whammy from Deaver
Review: The Coffin Dancer is yet another of Deaver's books that first leads you one way and then kicks you in the teeth when it doesn't happen the way it should. Yet another example of Deaver's excellent way of luring you in and then laughing when you get the ending wrong. The Coffin Dancer gives us another chance to see the work of ex forensic criminalist, Lincoln Rhyme at work, and after the superb "Bone Collector", this book admirably continues the story. Only this time the criminal is personally known to Rhyme and he will do anything to outsmart and catch him. An excellent thriller and mystery. This confirms in my eyes why the Times called Deaver "The best psychological thriller writer around."

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good But Not Up To Par
Review: After looking forward to the next book featuring Lincoln Rhyme, I found it to be enjoyable but a bit of a letdown (after Tbe Bone Collector and A Maiden's Grave). The story dragged in a few areas, included a bit too much forensic details and some of the characters were not very interesting. All in all, if you can escape from making comparisons you probably will find it to be a worthwhile read.

Summary: I couldn't put it down...
Review: Jeffery Deaver has an excellent series of novels involving the quadrapelegic criminalist Lincoln Rhyme and his protege, Amelia Sachs. In the book The Coffin Dancer, Deaver once again delivers a fast-paced story.

Rhyme is called in to help investigate a crime that has the marks of a former case he studied. A contract killer known as the Coffin Dancer has been hired to eliminate three employees of an air charter company after they are marked to testify in a grand jury investigation of another shady underworld character. The first kill is made using a bomb attached to one of the charter planes. The evidence of that explosion is brought to Rhyme, which then starts the cat and mouse game between him and the killer. The case is personal to Rhyme due to the nature of their original confrontation. The story races to a conclusion as Rhyme tries to stop the killer, keep the witnesses alive, and not get Sachs killed in the process.

This is probably my favorite Lincoln Rhyme novel so far. The story is constantly moving, and it's like reading a chess match waged between two masters at their craft. Even when you think you know how the story will play out, something happens to twist the story once again. This is really one of those stories that doesn't finish until the final page. You also gain some additional understanding behind the relationship between Sachs and Rhyme, so the character advancement means that future installments will be able to go even deeper than before.

A definite "must-read" if you like Deaver's work. Just make sure you can either stay up late or you don't have to work the next day...

Summary: Second book better than the first!
Review:
The Coffin Dancer is the second book in the Lincoln Rhyme novel series. Jeffery Deaver delivers a captivating suspense thriller with loads of twists and turns that keep this novel screaming along at breakneck speed!

Where much of the first book was tied up with Lincoln Rhyme's life or death choice, he is now resolved to live. Void of suicidal tendencies to negotiate, Deaver explores the relationship between our quadriplegic mastermind and his loyal assistant, Amelia Sachs, but more notably he develops a darker, more calculating villain. This darker intensity balances the extremely noble Lincoln against a ruthless Dancer and makes for great investigative suspense.

The Coffin Dancer is a calculating killer for hire determined to eliminate three material witnesses before an indicting grand jury hearing. As his plans play out, the body count rises and so does the intensity of Rhyme's pursuit. This whole book is packed into 48 hours and so there is no time to stop and play...this is fast, furious forensics and failure is not an option.

"The Coffin Dancer" is a great addition to the Lincoln Rhyme series. I'm looking forward to the next and think you will too!

Summary: Lincoln Rhyme Could Get No Less Than 5 Stars From Me!!!
Review: Coffin Dancer by Jeffrey Deaver is a thriller that I found absolutely wonderful.

This is the second in the Lincoln Rhyme mystery series
that I've read, the first being The Bone Collecter. I found it
every bit as exciting as TBC. The book did have a tremendous
amount of police lingo, but I had no problems in looking the
definitions up.

The main character is a quadriplegic and former
cop. The setting this time is an airport. The identity of the
killer was a complete surprise to me. Lincoln has 2 women
vying for his attention this time.

I give The Coffin Dancer 5 stars, and I can't wait to read 'The Empty Grave'. I recommend this book to everyone
reading this right now:)
