Summary: HURRAY -DEAVER FOOLED ME AGAIN & I LOVE SURPRISES!
Review: Mr. Deaver fooled me again! If you think this is another "predictable" story, just keep reading! I get such joy from thinking I have a plot all figured out and then being surprised. That's what Deaver did in the Bone Collector and he does it again here. At first the plot was too easy and I had it figured out and was starting to get disappointed then - WHAM! Deaver did it again. Like a fine Bordeaux, the book opens up the longer you read, and the twists and turns are worth the wait. Thank you, Mr. Deaver for a good, fun read. Keep up the good work and I will keep buying your books - because I love surprises.

Summary: This is the one of the best books I have EVER read!!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! This is the first Jeffrey Deaver book I've read, and now I can't wait to read all of his others. I could not put this book down - it is so well written and has some great twists. I would recommend this book without hesitation!

Summary: Read like the movie "Ronin"--what's going on???
Review: I always consider if an author had his hero as handicapped, his heroine a detective--especially a "beautiful" one, or created his so-called hitman not as a professional but a pyschopath, then the whole story would be totally pretensious and unnatural. To my regret, this book not only included these three bad factors but also with completely unbelievable police procedures, poorly written dialogue, and worst of all, so many made-up stuff that read as false as you could get! I have been fooled by those blind praises (were those made up by the author's kinfolks?) on this particular Amazon page, and foolishly enough to waste money buying it. I've tried to drudge along in order to make my money worth but still failed. This is a horribly book, one of the worst books that I've read in this summer.

Summary: held my interest
Review: I enjoy the characters and the way they track down clues. The attention to detail is amazing. Hope to see more by the same author.

Summary: Lincoln Rhyme Is No Ironside
Review: Jeffery Deaver's detective Lincoln Rhyme is the best -bar none- investigator ever created. In his second adventure, Rhyme is less confined than in his first, The Bone Collector. The detective is still a quadriplegic, but his spirit has been set free and -without ever leaving his wheelchair- he soars. Deaver throws in one twist too many in his conclusion, weakening an otherwise outstanding work. Lincoln Rhyme, I hope, will be with us for many future adventures.

Summary: The Coffin Dancer keeps the reader slipping and stumbling
Review: I found the Coffin Dancer to be a refreshing forensic based murder mystery and thriller. The plots and subplots were well thought out and the technical information that was referenced was fascinating (I would like to know how much of it is actually real).

Just as I thought that I figured out what was going to happen at the end the music changed and the stumbling began.

Deaver was quite good on how he would get the reader into the killers mind to feel his sickness but also to admire his genius

The characters for the most part were well developed though some of the characteristics of the main players may have been developed in Deavers' first Lincoln Rhyme Novel.

I have always enjoyed series novels such as those of Patricia Cornwell and James Patterson. Hopefully this series will continue.

I highly recommend this novel for anyone interested in forensic type murder mysteries.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS DREADFUL!
Review: A lot of people seem to like this book-- and all I can say is, their standards must be way low. There is not a SINGLE CHARACTER MOMENT that WORKS in this book. The love interest isn't believable (and not because the hero is paralyzed. That isn't the problem). The Nemesis isn't believable-- none of the bad guys are. The interplay between the characters-- at no point did I buy a moment of it. I finished the book, yes, but mostly as a technical exercise. It has one good trick up its sleeve, but even the character motivations for that are not brilliantly constructed. And the forensic stuff is so arcane that only the brilliant hero can get it-- not regular readers like you and me. Hey, I love a good thriller. Unfortunately, this is not one. Kind of a shame, really-- all that intelligence, and not a decently conceived and executed character in the bunch.

Summary: Excellent thriller and sequel to the Bone Collector
Review: The Bone Collector was stunning. The Coffin Dancer is almost as good. Deaver writes beautifully and includes excellent detail. If you like psychological thrillers and police procedurals, you'll love this book. Rhyme and Sachs are good together, again.

Summary: A new favorite author
Review: I just finished this book this morning after reading all night! I couldn't put it down. I was very pleased to find that "The Bone Collector", which also kept me on the edge of my seat, was not a fluke. I really enjoy the more off-beat mysteries - George Chesbro's Mongo books are among my favorites - and now I have found another "must-read" author in Jeffrey Deaver.

Summary: One of the most compelling books I have ever read!
Review: Although the characterization is superb and the information Deaver presents about Lincoln Rhyme's disability shows a great deal of sensitivity and understanding, it is the plotting and the twists and turns of the story that made this such a gripping read. Bravo!
