Summary: Review of the Dancer
Review: I read the two of Jeffery Deaver's books, Praying for Sleep and A Maiden's Grave. But the Coffin Dancer was a magnificent read, I couldn't put it down, Mr Deaver has taken the place of my all time favorites, Patterson, Sandford and Cornwell he's all of these writers and more. Mr Deaver do you think you can write a little faster. Thank you an avid reader.

Summary: Great book...wonderfully developed character..I LOVED it!
Review: I am SO glad that someone has gone, and made a hero out of someone you might not think would be one. I love the fact that Deaver developed Rhyme into the perfect man, intelligent, thoughtful, intense and handsome. Who cares that he is a "crip" as Rhyme so delicately puts it. I also love the tension between him and Amelia. This was gripping story with MANY twists that had me yelling out "I can't believe it" on more than one occasion. Buy it, BUY "The Bone Collector" too. I can't wait for another Rhyme and Sachs story to come out. Hurry, Jeffrey!

Summary: This was so cool!
Review: I for one, loved the plot and everything else about this book. This was my first book by Jeffery Deaver. Even though I read this book before I read The Bone Collector everything made enough sense that it just made me want to read his other books even more.

Summary: You won't believe the ending - it's that good a book!
Review: Former NYPD forensics investigator and current quadriplegic, Lincon Rhyme, agrees to help find a professinal hit man known as the Coffin Dancer (so named because of a tattoo on his arm that depicts the grim reaper dancing with a woman in front of a coffin). With the help of Amelia Sachs, a gutsy female patrol officer recruited and trained by Rhymes, and a computer/science lab in his home that culd rival the best in the nation, Lincon uses his experience and knowledge to keep the Dancer "on his toes". The author's use of police acronyms sometimes interrupts the flow of the story but is necessary to the life of a cop. I found the written version of the character conversation much more distracting('s'hre for it's here). Two characters briefly introduced in the Bone Collector (see my review there also) were Dellray and Cooper, undercover investigator and forensics lab specialist, respectively. These two were given expanded roles in The Coffin Dancer, and became unique contributors to solving the crime. As with The Bone Collector, I was totally unprepared for the ending, the "who done it" exposed. Jefferey Deaver weaves a fine tale of mystery. I recommend this book highly!

Summary: Probably his best
Review: I love the trist between Rhyme and Sachs. I was a big fan of Tom Harris's trilogy with Hannibel Lecture - the way he worked that girl detective into the story. This is even better with a better ending. Sachs comes so close and then....... Jeffery better come out with another. THE BONE COLLECTOR was very good but this was excellent. I need to read more about Linc and Amelia.

Summary: Twisting, Turning plot and a truly suprise ending
Review: A truly involved plot which keeps your attention; an antagonist to rival Patricia Cornwell's best and a climactic ending that blows away all your pre-conceived "I know who dunnit" ideas. A fast paced romp through the mind of a serial killer and the forensic expert who obsesses with his demise. In depth, riviting and highly recommended.

Summary: Terribly overwritten. Loosely joined and unbelievable.
Review: Start out with the beautiful fashion model turned cop. That's something that one can believe easily! Then put her into at least four situations in which we're supposed to believe she's been shot, blown up, or some other terrible deed has been done to her, only to then be told that nothing happened. How many times do you go to this well, Mr. Deaver? Or consider that villain and protagonist are both so smart that they both know what the other is planning. ALWAYS. Add in unnecessary filler, stereotyping of characters, and a stupid plot twist at the end, and you get a waste of time and money. I'm sorry I wasted the effort to read this.

I am not one to pan a book just for fun. I figure everyone has their own style. But I felt compelled in this case to warn you that this is contrived melodrama at its worst.

Summary: NOT DEAVER'S BEST, BUT WELL WORTH IT
Review: This is a great page-turner. The suprises keep coming at every turn. However, having read the Bone Collector, I was greatly dissappointed in the storyline.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful thriller
Review: This was by far the best book I have read in years! I couldn't put it down. It kept me guessing at every turn and was so intriguing! This is the first Deaver novel I have read, and it will not be my last!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely great!!!
Review: I confess I'm a DEAVER fan but this one surpasses even the Bone Collector. Don't waste any more time reading reviews, GO AND READ IT! The plot is great, Rhyme is absolutely lovable. I'm waiting for the next in this series!
