Summary: Suspensul writing from a master of supsense!
Review: This novel, a faveorite of mine, is a suspensful, can't-put-down type novel. You get to "feel" for the characters from the start. You can't put it down! But, I warn younger readers, the ending gets really gory and graphic. And, there is a little sexual content at the end also. But, if you want a great book, here it is

Summary: One of THE Best!
Review: Well, to me this book was very hard to put down. I never knew what was going to happen next. It was kinda sad, funny, suspensful, a real thriller! Koontz really knows how to make you feel like you are right there with the characters, living what they are "living" and feeling what they are "feeling"

Summary: An intriguing work full of terrifying suspense!
Review: To begin I, guess I would have to say that I realy enjoyed this book. Dean Koontz, author of many of my favorite pieces, does a remarkable job in this fictional suspense/thriller. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes to sit down and get a terrifying thrill. This book is mostly interesting because it leaves one dangling at the edge of reality. There is no wonder why this made the best-sellers list

Summary: Dizzying highs and disappointing lows
Review: Here's a cliche: Only when you've been in the deepest valley can you truly appreciate the highest mountain. Dark Rivers of the Heart started out with a Himalayan pace and plot, and it was captivating. From the very beginning, the plight of Spencer Grant and Ellie made the reader not care about the time of day. It was credible, even when all that high-tech gizmos started to take over as a strong "third party" in the storyline. Never mind that the average reader wouldn't know if those gadgets would work as well as Koontz described it. What's more, Koontz excelled in making the reader truly care about the characters. Then, abruptly, the abyss appears. The truly incoherent and unrealistic final showdown, with its too convinient outlets, was such a disappointment to such a promising start. Where's the cold logic meshed with warm, human emotions that was prevalent in the previous chapters? It was like a bad horror movie where the pretty girl goes into the four story, ten bedroom house in the dark anyway despite knowing the monster's presence in the living room. At least turn the light on, we'd say. Most importanly, where's the credibility? Koontz worked hard for most of novel. He struck out in the last 10%. It still, however, made for great rush reading, like when a persoh just wants to pick up a book and get high. Any possibility of an alternative ending

Summary: Fantastic
Review: The book "Dark Rivers of the Heart," by Dean Koontz, is one of the best books this author has ever created. It's story of how the government can manipulate the lives of ordinary people, while not exactly the first of it's kind, sends chills up your spine as you read the book. Page-after-page, the suspense builds. Sometimes it's even hard to put the book down because you're starving to find out what happens next. The book deserves high marks, and Dean Koontz deserves to be recognized for the skillfulness and genius it took to write a book this well

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: Dean Koontz, the master of suspense and science fiction, takes his writing in a new and wonderful direction. This is a chilling psychological-techno drama which will leave you shivering and shaking your head in disbelief. Man's inhumanity to man has never been more well illustrated. Koontz gets deep inside your head and heart like never before. His character descriptions are second to none. You will not want to put this book down once you start reading!

Summary: Intriguing and suspenseful!
Review: Very fulfilling for me. I enjoy books that combine genres ,especially hi-tech, computers, with a hint of mystery. Koontz motive of having a despairing protagatonist works well here. The main character has a chance to grow thoughout the novel. You can feel the love he has for the lady he tracks across the country. The main villain is an original and I could not wait until he got his. The female counterpoint to the villlain was also interesting. The main character reminded me of the protagonist in Watchers, the book that got me started on Koontz. I would like to see another book with the main characters

Summary: One of Dean Koontz's best bestsellers.
Review: You may not be in a movie theatre but with Dean Koontz's Dark Rivers of The Heart, you may as well be. This thrilling, chilling, suspensful book brings the audience, edge of your seat, action. Murders here and there for no reason at times makes you wonder about Dean Koontz sanity. But, he's all well and not insane. You could tell he is sane with his great allusions and ironic endings. You won't be dissapointed with Dark Rivers of The Heart
