Rating: Summary: Thrilling and Intreguing novel of immortality Review: "The Grave" is an intreguing novel of immortality after death. Christopher Pike portrays his version of what a life after death would be like. At first a young man named Ted Lovett is lured into the woods by a mysterious woman that calls herself Dara. From there he is stripped naked and buried alive with a Satanic chant said over him. One year later a young girl named Keri Weir meets a mysterious man while working her shift at a video store. He kills her by dumping her into a freezer. The rest of the story is a constant struggle between good and evil immortals. If you want to know how it ends you should read it. Mr. Pike is a pure genious throughout this novel. I HATE to read but I couldn't get myself to put this book down, for i had to find out what happened next. This novel was sure brilliance.
Rating: Summary: HERE IT IS! Review: After months and months of waiting for Pikes next book, adult or young adult, i feared the stories of the authurs change in style were true and i was going to be dissapointed. I say that because thats how excecution of innocence left me.(forgive my spelling im used to relying on spell check). But here i was reading the book from cover to cover in just a few hours. I did not even start the book until well after midnight and i couldnt put it down until i was through. I love Pikes work and mainly because i usually has some interesting information about history, mythology of other cultures that made me want to explore. Not only do his books give me much entertainment in reading them but they also make me want to seek out more information on the topics that he approaches. With that said THE GRAVE was no dissapointment. Every chapter lead up to the next beautifully and the story was interesting and easy to follow. This will be included in my collection of all time favorite novels.
Rating: Summary: Hope Springs Eternal? - Beware what you wish for... Review: Christopher Pike ventures far with this addition to his shelf. Yes, he deals with superhuman strengths and characters which might not necessarily be human. But some parents be wary, deals briefly with teenage pregnancy. This latest novel also deals with something I don't think Pike has dealt with often before, science, DNA, and myth. You will start out thinking you're reading a horror novel, but it will end on a mythological note of hope.

Rating: Summary: PIKE - AN AUTHOR WHO UNDERSTANDS HIS READERS Review: Completely understand what Carrie Nutter is talking about. Am 18 and have been reading Pike since I was 10 - still head for Young Adult section to look for any new Pike books. With each new novel, a little bit more of the author becomes clear. Fans will notice that he interweaves parts of previous novels into each book, such as character names etc. Although I myself am not religous, I have become used to the relgious/spiritual undertones in his more recent novels. My favourite novels are the beautiful SATI and Midnight Club and his classic Monster. Also brillant are the Last Vampire series (first is best)/The Wicked Heart and Die Softly. Try to read a variety of his novels, particularly his earlier ones if you are just starting on Pike, as they cover widely different subjects, from Sci-Fi to murder mystery to romance to life and death. Pike is a truly magnificent author, who genuinly understands his readers. Will happily still be browsing Young Adult section come my 30th b/d!
Rating: Summary: Bury this one Review: For the longest time, I thought THE VISITOR was Pike's worst book. Now there is THE GRAVE. A young man follows a young woman through the woods. And not much happens after he is grabbed by what would be a cult and buried alive. The first chapter is excellent and would be an awesome story on its own in a TALES OF TERROR anthology. The rest of this book is horrible. Okay, Mr. Pike--you had a not so good book. But do not leave your fans hanging. We have faith in you.
Rating: Summary: A great book, and very suspensfull Review: I am just really starting to get into Pike books. I never was a big reader untill my older sister told me to try out The Midnight Club. So I did, and I enjoyed it. I think Pike's work has changed, but for the better. This book is different from any normal horror book. It has some weird twists and kept me turning the pages untill it was done. I am just starting to read Magic Fire, and already am i enjoying it. The Grave is deffinatly a MUST READ for Pike fans!
Rating: Summary: just as you would expect from christopher pike, a great book Review: I am sick and tired of pike's fans disliking his latest books. After a decade or more of writing stories we can't blame him from changing his writing style. The grave was a great book. He wrote about something that's not been written before. This is a wonderful thing for an author. Besides, if you rate this book in comparison to other YA novels, this one should get 10 stars. It has an intelligent plot and a great twist at the end.
Rating: Summary: Another installment from a interesting author Review: I have been reading Pike books since age 11 (I am now 24) and still I head to the Young Adult section to see what is in store for the next release. As I get older, I can see more and more of the person who is writting the book appear in the story line. I will admit that I have gotten so use to the way Pike wrties I can skim over a few pages....but I always look forward to the end. This is an excellent book with a very deep message....but may seem confusing if the people who read it are not open to knowing of the "outer limits" or possibility for the things Pike writes about to be true.
Rating: Summary: Very Interesting Review: I have to say that this book twisted into something I didn't think it was going to do. It was a really good book and I think it was quite different than his other books. I really liked Pike's characters in this book and it was really good. All Pike's fans should read this one!
