Review: While this book doesn't rank among the ones I'll remember twenty years from now, this is definately an entertaining horror novel. As long as you enjoy reading about the supernatural, you'll have no problems being absorbed by the scenes within this book. I found the characters (the "good guys" that is) to be very charming! I loved the good witch, Minerva! The author's descriptions of the sinister woods were vivid enough to make me reconsider walking through the dark hallway to my bedroom. This is a great fall read, especially around Halloween! You'll love the setting and the characters. These two elements are well-written enough to make you forgive the somewhat mediocre plot. Don't expect another Poe, but don't underestimate Thorne's ability to conjure up a few scares either!
