Rating: Summary: "Real" ghosts Review: It is rare to find a book that purports to relate "true" ghost stories that does so in a way that neither accepts nor denies out of hand the veracity of the stories. Sources are quoted, stories related, narratives spun without any editorial voice saying "this is folklore" or "this is fact". I guess at my age I don't need to know whether ghosts really exist to be fascinated in them. As Carl Sagan said, (paraphrased) "I am tolerant of ambiguity in this regard". I have many books on my nightstand, but somehow "Haunted Heartland" always works it's way to the top of the stack, upside down, open to a story that I've probably already read 7 times, and can't wait to continue at bed time. This is the perfect nightstand book, but I'd recommend you buy a nightlight to go with it. You'll need it... PS - I have ordered the second book from these authors on this topic, titled "Haunted America", and am waiting for the UPS truck to pull up!

Rating: Summary: This is a book is scarier than fiction. Review: My grandmother let me have this book a long time ago. I think it was about 4 years ago. This book really gave me a scare because the stories are told in such detail. I recommend reading the story "Summerwind" first. It is my personal favorite.
Rating: Summary: Total Scareage!! Review: Okay you ghost fans, if you like to read about real ghost stories (and who doesn't) this is for you. They way the authors tell the hauntings...man....really scary! Honestly, I couldn't put it down. I highly suggest this book. Just remember...when the lights are off....the rules change...beware of the dark.
Rating: Summary: Not Really Scary Review: Some of the stories in the book were good and kept me thinking, but however it seemed that all the stories ended with, 'so and so no longer exists though.' Like all the haunted houses were no more so I felt that it gave off the impression that it was less true. Besides, what's better than a haunted place that is still around?! Also, I did in-depth research on several of the stories, to see if they were true, and I found either no such thing, or completely different stories. I live in Nebraska so I researched all the Nebraska stories and found only one to have been recorded as a real event. I guess I like ghost stories with proof.
Rating: Summary: Perfect! Review: Tales of true haunted places around the United States. I'll keep this book forever!
Rating: Summary: True? Ghost Stories? Review: This book is full of many stories, but lacks detail and credibility. Many of the stories seemed to based on a single episode experienced by only a handful of people (or in some cases young children).
Rating: Summary: huntings Review: This book really shows how there are really hunting's that go on around and that there are many different aspects as to why this happens. This book I will have to say is one of the best I have read on the topic of hunting's and this I really liked. I still say that this really shows how different places are and the history behind the places.

Rating: Summary: containing popular fictional tales, but one flaw. Review: This book was interesting for an essay I had to write concerning the belief of the supernatural or shall we blantently say "ghosts". The only thing that concerns me is that I went to 476 summit ave. seeking answers to my questions, and took information from the book to expand my knowledge which in that I found nothing. my only wish for this book is that resources of their information could be made public for those who would like to follow up.
