Rating: Summary: What was this book about? Review: I read this book my sophomore year in college because I was bored and I was waiting for classes to start, or something like that. This has got to be the worst series I have read. I don't even remember what the book was about, but from what I gather from the other reviews, it was the same old formula the ghostwriters have used for the past ten years. Get another storyline! Without the incest!
Rating: Summary: Loved and Wants more Review: This is a really good book. I think that everyone should read it. I just started reading her books at the begin of this school year. At first, I was unsure about reading her books b/c the first one I read by her made me cry. So then I wasn't too sure about if I should read anymore but then I read this one and then it changed my whole persona about her. I think she is a very good writer. And I think Meldy is a true girl of the 90s. She is very strong. Actually, she made me proud just to be a girl.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT Review: This was probably the best book i've ever read. It had a very good story line and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I thought it was a great book, just like all her others. I believe she was a very beautiful child growing up in a confused world. People loved her very much. Her uncle loved her also but showed it in a very different way. I really don't think her mother loved her too much The men in her life were more important to her. It was best she was left off at her aunt and uncles house. About the people who read her books and complain about the repitious reading, if you know her writing it is about this and always will be.
Rating: Summary: This needs to stop! Review: I hope the editors are reading this! whoever the ghostwriter is needs to get a new plot. Before the story begins you can almost guess that an "evil" father or stepfather has committent incest or rape. The negative stereotypes of women also need to cease. Either she's beautiful and vain or she's beautiful and innocent, no in betweens. There are no plain and smart women, those women are always jealous and spiteful. No caring women who are strong enough to fight back and stand up to these evil men! Hardly any of the "heroines" go to college. I am tired of the brothers liking sisters and so forth. Really, people are tired of the same old bull! If the ghostwriter going to create an interesting plot, they should start with adding more diversity. Please make it more complex. What happened to the sad, but sweet endings, like the first & second series? What happened to the heart wrenching storylines? The ones that just made you want to cry. And what happened to the plot that made you feel as though you were witnessing these events? The mystery and fire is no more.Flowers in the Attic was breath-taking because it broke new ground, and it had twists and turns. It was not sophomoric like this novel and the terrible Wildflowers series. All the novels after Dawn, have become to much of a formula. The only reason I read these books anymore is the hope that they will get better.
Rating: Summary: Enough Already! Review: V.C. Andrews was a magnificent writer. She wrote breathtaking novels that made her famous. Sadly, she is no longer with us. Why her family continues to write these stories in her name is something I will never understand. Books like Melody are an embarrasment to her legacy. Juxtaposed with Flowers in the Attic, it becomes obvious which novel is brilliant and which is pathetic. I wish the Andrews family would cease to publish such mediocre work under her name.
Rating: Summary: this is a great book Review: This book was awesome in my opinion i finished reading it in 1 day and i ususally hate reading but V.C Andrews is the best writer of the millenium and any of you who say different should just go to he** . She was a very loved and cherished woman , but at least the people who are writing the books are trying to keep her memory alive . But all in all i loved this book .
Rating: Summary: I didn't hate it as much as I expected to Review: I've read V.C. Andrews before, and expected more of the same old, same old. This was...better. There were places where the characters were more than the stereotypes she usually writes in. The good and evil were more balanced. Solidly not awful.
Rating: Summary: GREAT NOVEL!!! Review: Can you imagine growing up with only your father and mother as the only realives you have ever known? Well, in V.C. Andrews novel Melody, that is what happens to the main character. Melody, the main character, looses her father in a mining accident. Right after the funeral Melody's mother decided to pack up and move. What Melody doesn't know is that her mother wants to leave Melody with her aunt and uncle whom she has never met. Melody is not happy about leaving her friends behind, but she goes on and moves with her mother. While Melody is living with her aunt and uncle, she begins to wonder why they have not kept in contact with her father and mother. Melody also begins to question why they don't want her to ever mention her father's name. When Melody finds out the answer, she is not happy with it. But can she live with responsibility? This novel is a pleasure to read. It makes one wonder how much they really know about their families. It also teaches you to never judge anyone because sometimes you don't always know the whole story. I think that anyone who enjoys Andrews' books should read this one. It would help if the reader is a little mature about some aspects of life.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've read in a long time! Review: This is a great book are all reading levels and ages. The book goes into great detail and you feel like your actully there expercincing there troubles, happiness, and loses with them!
