Rating: Summary: Compelling, one of her best Review: I have read many of V.C. Andrews books. I have to say that this book and the rest of the series is my favorite. Some of her stories can be redundant, but with this book I found that I was always turning the pages, and it kept me up all night. This book gives you a chilling story of a young girl who only wants the family she had, but is faced with the reality that she must deal with the life that her mother forces on her. She is forced to live with her father's family that seems to hate her because of her parents you get this since of really how strongly tied you are to your family. You also see a great friendship form and develop over the whole series. This book is chilling, but at the same time gives you a happy story of girl who makes the best with what she has.
Rating: Summary: Very exciting but alot like the others Review: Melody is another book by V.C.Andrews that deals with lies and backstabbing within a family. I liked this book but I think that since I have read six of her books already, Virginia Andrews needs to come up with a completely different plot for one of her books that doesn't have to do with people keeping secrets from others and later finding out the truth. I liked this one though because of the strong bonding between characters that seems more superficial in her other books. I liked that this book had more situations people could relate to than her other books. Overall, Melody is a good book and is indeed quite surprising and exciting for first time readers.
Rating: Summary: AWSOME Review: I liked this book it was GOOD! I thought it wasn't the best but that dosen't keep it from becoming VERY GOOD! This book seems either you love it or you hate it!
Rating: Summary: this book is awesome Review: this is a compelling book with lots of great surprises. Here is a summary that won't give away TOO much. Melody lived with her mom and dad in a trailer park in west virginia. melody is devastated when she finds out that her dad died in a coalmining accident. Her mom is not one to grieve, so she quickly picks up a new man. She drops melody off at a relatives house at the cape while she goes off to try to be a model and actress. Melody is welcomed by her aunt sara and cousin may. She is not welcomed though by her uncle jacob and other cousin cary. She soon finds out that that family is also grieving over their daughter/sisters death. after many exciting events melody really unravels the truth about her real family's past. She has many adventures with her cousin Cary, finding out that the Cape isn't the "perfect paradise". I think this was one of her best books for it was greatly written and had a interesting story line. I could hardly put the book down. If you read this series, I would also reccommend the Dollanganger series. The plot is very exciting, maybe even more so than this one. It is about a mother who tries to get money from her parents, but to do so she must lock up her 4 children in the mansion's attic. It was a great, captivating story, and I would highly reccommend it to all V.C Andrews readers, and also others. She is a fabulous author with great ideas for her books.
Rating: Summary: a brief summary of the book that doesn't give it away. Review: this book was hard to put down. i had started by reading Music In The Night which probably wasn't a good thing but it kinda tore away the confusion. V.C. Andrews is one of my favorite authors. but about the book.... It's about a girl, Melody Logan, who's father died. her mother, obviously over his death decides to go on a quest to find a job and a better place to live. She decides to drop her of at her rich relatives from the "cod" to live. there she meets Aunt Sara who has taken her as a replacement for her dead daughter. Uncle Jacb, Carey, May, grandma Olivia, Grandfather Samuel, Judge Childes, And Kenneth Childes. While she is there the lies she has known all her life will haunt her 'til she finds the truth that frightens her even more.
Rating: Summary: Melody is whisked away into a world of secrets and lies. Review: Melody is really just your normal teenage girl growing up in a mining town in West Virgina. Her whole world comes crashing down with the death of her father. Melody's mother s not one to whallow in grief and quickly hooks up with another man. Her mom sends Melody to her Uncle Jacob and Aunt Sara's house to live until her mom can get "back on her feet". Melody has soon found herself in the middel of (this is my opion) a really really screwed up family. Aunt Sara is still deeling with the death of her daughter. Uncle Jacob is obsessed with following God's plan of doing everything perfect. Grandmother is a horrid women who is more conserned with how the family looks then love. All the while Melody has to put up with her cousin Cary who thinks Melody is there to replace his dead twin sister. All the while I am reading this book I literaly feel like I want to slug some of the characters. Despite everything, somehow Melody manages to swallow all this crap she's taking. The book is powerful and striking, proving there is no such thing as a perfect family.
Rating: Summary: Okay, not the best Review: I'm a V.C. Andrews fan so I have read most of her books. Of all the books I have read, I like this series the least. Melody comes off as this immature, whiny, childish character who falls apart at the first sign of conflict. Her cousin Cary acts like a whipped dog pining away in his obsession over his dead sister. The storyline is okay, but varies little from V.C. Andrews' other books. I would recommend reading Heaven and the rest of the Casteel series instead, at least the characters in that series are actually likeable.
Rating: Summary: uh huh another great book Review: awesome Book deserving of a award winning medal
Rating: Summary: Is This Book Stupid? Aye Review: Let's see. We have a young female protagonist with a beautiful, yet extremely selfish mother who abandons her to chase her little pipe dreams. Sound familiar. Well, this naive chick finds out she has an aunt and uncle, not to mention three cousins (one of which is dead), whom she has never met before. Blah Blah Blah. She gets into all sorts of trouble because she never seems to learn. How many mistakes does one have to make before we just stop caring?
Rating: Summary: Compelling Review: Not as good as My Sweet Audrina or Flowers in the attic, but the most original since Dawn. A good read, with a sad yet happy disposition.
