Rating: Summary: Delos and Mykonos Review: I'm not sure how I came to buy this. Probably the Greek island background. I now see that it is directed at young adults, which explains the rather simple language. I was inclined to sneer at the simple writing style at first but he knows how to keep a plot moving and the pages turning. The plot involves reincarnated Greek goddesses and the protagonists are young people visiting Mykonos. It might be of interest to a young person planning a trip. Provocative, but not explicit, sex.
Rating: Summary: memorable Review: i've read alot of christopher pike novels, but this is one of my favorite and most memorable ones. partially because i've always enjoyed greek mythology and so i liked how he tied some of it into his book. just loved the plot!
Rating: Summary: Weak Review: Interesting premise, but nowhere near his older works. Seems Chris is more interested in pumping out several books a month than concentrating on style or plot. And where the **** is the sequal to the Cold One promised oh so many years ago? I am a sadly disappointed once fan.
Rating: Summary: Come on!!! Review: It took me three years to try to finish this book because it was SOO boring. Who needs to hear about the plane ride to Greece??? It took forever just to get to the "good" stuff. This book was very very poory writen. I think Mr. Pike has done ten times better with his books. Most of his other books I would like to read again...but this one just makes me want to give it away just to get rid of it in my posession. Sorry, Mr. Pike, you could have done way better.
Rating: Summary: A REVIEW ON THE BOOK " THE IMMORTAL" Review: It's an excellent book, with a very slight hint of funniness, and just enough scariness to keep you on your toes.Christopher Pike is a great writer, with loads of good ideas, and his books are the kind that you can read over and over again and still wonder what's going to happen next. When I read The Immortal, I got confused at some points of it, but ,I suppose that was because it was four o'clock in the morning!Otherwise,I totally enjoyed it ,I mean it's not the kind of book you would read "because you're bored" I read it practically every day because I like the book.If you read it I hope you like it too
Rating: Summary: Could be better Review: Josie and her friend Helen (both 17) go vacationing in Greece. There she discovers her friend and her are possessed by Ancient Goddesses. When the two finaly realize it they fight to the death. Does the word ridiculous mean anything to Mr. Pike? This book was poorly written!
Rating: Summary: This is an original Review: Josie woke up on the plane the same way one wakes up when they pull into their driveway; the feeling that you're home. Only she was on a plane to Greece, a place she had never been to before. Along with her father, his girlfriend, and her best friend Helen, Josie discovers a whole new world. But upon the tiny island of Delos, Apollo's birthplace, is where the fun starts. Dreams of two goddesses who were best friends forever, until love tore them apart, then murder and revenge, a trial . . . Soon, the shattering truth comes to Josie, but is it too late? Can Josie really confront the evil waiting for her? Christopher Pike really created a masterpiece with this one. I am always willing to read anything about Ancient Greece and mythology, and this is just sooo good. A definite must read for Pike fans
Rating: Summary: An interesting mix of Mythology and Horror Review: My favorite Christopher Pike book, "The Immortal" has an interesting blend of Greek Mythology and scary horror. It was what got me started on mythology. The main villan Helen was twisted and evil and I cheered Josie on in those last few chapters. No matter how air-headed she sounded at the begining of the book, the girl had some brains behind her. She made a great heroine. If you need a good book to read, pick this book up!
