Rating: Summary: I can't put it down! Review: I loved the book, Rain. I started reading, and didn't put the book down until I finished it! I love V.C. Andrews books. Actually, V.C. is dead, and someone else writes, using her name. I don't unnderstand why the author doesn't write under their own name, and take the credit for all these wonderful books!
Rating: Summary: Rain-another VC Andrews Masterpiece Review: I have to say that i was never really into reading until i began to read VC Andrew's books, there is something very intriguing about them, and the new Hudson series doesnt seem to be any different. Rain is an excellent book and i wound up reading it in 2 days because i couldnt put it down, it really is a great book and i would reccommend it to anyone who enjoys her writing style.
Rating: Summary: Waiting for the next one! Review: I really enjoyed this book and I am waiting for the next one ofthe "Hudson Series" to come out so I can continue with thestory. I love all of V. C. Andrews' books! I have never read one that I didn't like!
Rating: Summary: Rain Review: This book is suspenseful and exciting. The writer uses so much imagery that you actually feel like you're watching a movie. I also enjoyed the plot of this story. Although it was sad, it kept my attention and has me longing for the release of the next book in the Hudson family series.
Rating: Summary: You Can't Stop the Rain Review: I enjoyed reading Rain, and I am looking forward to the next installment in the Arnold series. However, the "rags to riches" theme is a bit played out. This story reads like so many of the other books: Dawn, Ruby, etc. I am a V.C. Andrews fan, but the "ghostwriter" needs to work on a less predictable plot line next time. I also find it hard to believe that Rain ONLY listens to Classical music! I mean, come on! What teenager or young adult do you know that ONLY listens to classical music? I'm not knocking classical music, but this is a bit unrealistic! Why does the story HAVE to take place in the ghetto/projects? Not all black people come from the 'hood. I hope in Lightning Strikes Rain adds some variety to her musical tastes! And what is up with her mother (not Latisha)?
Rating: Summary: not very supsenseful Review: This was very much like other series. Poor girl goes to live with rich family. The only neat thing was the grandmother was nice to her. The ghost writer has used the incest theme with Roy and the actual half-brother. The mother refuses to acknowledge the kid for fear of losing everything. The wicked person is the aunt here and her character is not well developed nor is the half sister. We can except in the next book the possibility of Rain turning up pregnant and grandma bailing her out. She meets her dad in England and another possible pass from both Roy and Brody. And the aunt and half sister, once the secret is out, (the aunt knows) to make her life hell. I was disappointed at the predictablity. I have to wonder how much of this story line is really VC Andrews idea.
Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: I Just finished reading this book and I have to say that this is one of the best novels I have read in a while! This book kept my interest from the first sentence to the last. I am a big fan of V.C. Andrews, and I enjoy the fact that her "ghostwriter" has kept her unique and wonderful writing style alive. I would recomend Rain to anyone who enjoys a novel that grabs the reader's attention and holds it until the end. I cannot wait for the next installment of the series "Lightning Strikes" I think this is going to be one of the better series that has been written by V.C. or her family. It's so good to see a kind grandmother in this novel as opposed to the grandmother in "Flowers in the Attic"!
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK! Review: I love all of V.C. Andrews books so much. I read the Wildflower series, and the begining of the Hudson series is even better! Although I agree that some of the book is a little predictable, I thought the plot was interesting and it drew me in. I Recomend this book to everyone and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
Rating: Summary: Dawn, I mean Rain was a great book Review: Well, this was a great book. Although I wish she would change the plot a bit. I thought it was VERY predictable. But I love her writting style and will read all her books. I did like the fact that there was actualy a nice grandmother for once. Just a hint if you loved Dawn, you'll love Rain.
Rating: Summary: A nice change! Review: I really enjoyed this book. I have been a VC andrews fan since 1986 and this may turn out to be one of the better series. I just hope her "brother" turns out to NOT be the love interest in future books. It is a little like Dawn but Rain is a more interesting character and I feel Rain is a better book overall. Can't wait for the next one to see what happens!
