Review: Ok, I have kept quiet all these years, but after reading Rain, Iam going to let out all my feelings about these books that are written by this untalented ghostwriter. First of all, why is the main character always so wimpy and so whiny? Why are they always on the verge of tears? What gives? Every page I turn, they are always crying? ANd why is it that there always an evil overweight ugly small minded sister in the book? (Clara Sue, Gisselle, etc) and why do they always get away with it when they insult the main character? If you notice, the main character never defends herself..she is on the verge of crying? After reading the book, it occured to me that the brother had liked Rain even before he knew that they werent related! He found out that they werent related and he wasted no time into getting into Rains pants. Thats dumb. Another that really bothers me, and I think that anyone can agree with me...Why does the main character waste her time whether to sleep with an unimportant character or not? At least 5 or 6 chapters were wasted on her deciding whether to sleep with Corbette or not. I found that part of the story to be a waste of paper and the ghostwriter shuld not waste our time on reading about unimportant characters in the book. Those 5 or 6 chapters should be about Rain finding out more about her family. And why does the ghostwriter always waste 2 or 3 pages on a very unimporttant character?, like the homeless person that saved Rain. Those pages were a waste of time. I found the book tremendously boring and a big disapointment. That is why I gave the book one star. I can tell you already what Lightning Strikes is about...Rain goes to another country, finds her father, who wants nothing to do with her...thats only the first 2 chapters. The next 14 chapters will be Rain deciding whether to sleep with some loser and the last 3 chapters will have her return home and get insulted again by her bratty sister. All in all the story will come to absolutly NO conclusion and be as boring as the first. One more thing. the part where Rain hears the dead Beni whispering in her ear that she is unsexually active and she should sleep with that absolute loser Corbette, the real V. C. Andrews would have had Rain reminded that sleeping around is what caused Beni's death in the first place. To the ghostwriter....so far, you are killing the books...find a new plot and a new character with a BACKBONE! And FAST!

Summary: A great book for a new generation
Review: I was very impressed with the book. the fact that there is black-white character in the story was good. I like the fact that the book was up to date with the time instead of the old fashoin plantion era where you dont even know what year the book is taking place. i wish the writer would continue a new series of the Flowers in the Attic series. I was very very impressed with Rain and look forward to the rest of the series.

Summary: Rain, Rain, Don't go Away
Review: I have not been able to read all of the books written by V.C. Andrews. But flowers in the Attic was one of the best. But Rain was not as bad as some of the crtics are rating it. It was well worth the time and reading. It was some what realistic compared to some books that have been wriiten by V.C. Andrews. I have to also say that one character in the book did drag on and he really could have been left out. But all in all it kept my attention and it had a fairly descent plot. I guess the book could of used more of a suspense, vigance and mystery. What most of the readers are use to. I think they are just giving the ghost writter a hard time. I think it would be a great movie and it might draw attention considering Rain is bi-racial. I cant wait till the next book comes out I'm definetly going to buy the book.

Summary: Read better
Review: This book was ok but I miss the style of writing that she wrote in Flowers in the Attic that has to be my favorite book of all times. I have always enjoyed reading the book even thou in the past couple of years I've lost the passion for them that I use to have. I remember as a teen running into the bookstores at the mall and asking if she had a new book and buying and taking it home and reading in a week because I took in every word she wrote and loved it. But now the books to me are just something there for me to read. This book is good the charactors were decent I liked Rain in the novel but wasn't a big fan of Beni and so forth. I'll always continue to read her books untill I get so bored with them I will have the heart to part with them. Till then looking somewhat forward to the next book.

Review: Okay I thought I would like this book but I really didn't! There is no way I would read this book again! My english teacher was right and I tried to tell her that I would like it but sure enough I thought it was DUMB! I wasted my time with this book and to tell you the truth I couldn't even finish it! I don't read much but when I do read i want a book that's going to grab my attention and this book absolutly did not! I wish i could say differently but I can't

Review: This ia a wonderful book. I read one review that claims it was no good and couldn't finish reading it. I can't see that. I read this book in 3-days. I could not put it down for nothing. I was so anxious to see what happened next to Rain. I find this book to be very good and I encourage everyone to read it through. Do not put it down to collect dust. Believe me, after you get through the first few chapters you will have a hard time putting it down. VC Andrews has never wrote a book that is no good. She has and will always inspire me. Way to go VC !

Summary: Here we go again.....
Review: Here we go again...same story, different setting: Beautiful girl with odd first name endures hard life in bayou/ghetto/hillcountry/crummy appartment and has to put up with lazy/no-good-for-nothing sister and abusive/drunk/gambling father. Beautiful girl has always wondered why she doesn't resemble anyone in the family and why she is so much smarter and well-spoken than the rest of the clan (duh!)...Beautiful girl finds out that she's adopted/illegitimately conceived/sold/bought, while her handsome "brother" can't contain himself because now he doesn't have to feel guilty for lusting after his "sister" anymore. Beautiful girl starts feeling like a coke bottle about to explode/streched rubberband about to snap/pot of gumbo about to boil over, packs her bags to live with rich and snooty grandmother/aunt/birthmother and gets tormented because she's black/white trash/hillfolk. Beautiful girl beats the odds (while having plenty of unprotected sex with rich boy/"brother"/love of her life) and turns into beautiful women with lots of success as a singer/actress/painter/piano player. But the story doesn't end here. I'm sure we'll see at least 3 sequels, topped off by one prequel, describing how she was conceived and why. Like it would make a difference. Well, what can I say...one cliche after another, joined by countless metaphors. How many times do the VC Andrews ghostwriters intend to put a "new twist" on the same old story? All in all this little number is highly recommended if you like easy entertainment and predictable plots. I read it for exactly that reason....to "cleanse my palate between serious reads" so to speak. Someone needs to take charge, take VC Andrews novels from the horror section and put them in the young readers section. The only horrible thing about these pre-pubescent stories is the true VC Andrews turning over in her grave.

Review: From the moment I read Flowers in the Attic I was hooked. Idevowered one book after another, and within three months I had readeveryone of her books in the library. Rain is an underdevelopedformula book. Andrews stories used to send chills down my spine, now I feel like thier is something missing. Remember, the bigger the name, the smaller the book. END

Review: I really liked this book. I have been reading her books for a really long time. When I found out that she had died and someone else was going to be writing them i was a little up set. Anyhow this book was good if you have read her others and like VC Andrews. But a lot of her books are the same. They almost all include some sort of insest and are all kind of the same. This book reminded me of Dawn. The way her parents were poor and not really her parents. I mean they didn't do a good job describing DC at all. I live there and it is not at all the way it was discribed. But like i said, if you like her books then you will like it. My personal favorite book was Ruby.

Summary: A V.C. Fan From THe Beginning Says.......
Review: I have been reading V.C. ANdrews books since the beginning. I was hooked with Petals series and lost through the Orphans and WildFlowers series. At long last our ghost writer has decided to go back to what made V.C. Andrews' gothic stories so enthralling. The opening story, I feel is just that, an opening and a beginning to what is going to be an very interesting anthology of this family. I like that the writer had decided to take the storyline from an unexpected, and more up to date, angle than what has been in the past. Mr. N (ghost writer) has now moved V.C.'s legacy into the future. I don't believe that this book has overshadowed V.C.'s own stormy intuition of gothicness but he does add a fever pitched twist into a new storyline. A jewel to read. In waiting great anticipation to the next book in the series. I only hope that the rest of this and other series begin to take on more and more of the old feel of Andrews' golden touch. 4 Stars to Rain, a must read for the modern Andrews fan!
