Rating: Summary: Kady's book review Review: I read "I know what you did last summer" by Lois Duncan. This book is about a girl named Julie James. Who was involved in hit and run freak accident with her three friends Helen, Barry, and Ray. This car accident caused the death of a pedestrian on a bicycle, or so they thought. Julie has dealt with the guilt of not saying anything to the police or anybody else about what she knows. She decided to try and push the memory out of her life because of a pact that Barry made the four of them make, saying that they swear to never mention the incident again. Julie was trying to get her life back together until one day when she got a letter in the mail saying "I know what you did last summer." From then on the four friends continually got harassed about the situation by an unknown someone. To find out what happens you have to read the book. I think this was a good book. I would recommend it to people who like suspense and excitement.

Rating: Summary: I Know What You Did This Summer ( I mean Last ) Review: This book was very interesting. I could not put this book down! (Don't read it at night!) Rating: Summary: "They thought it was over" Review: Ten months ago, after a hit-and-run accident that killed a 10-year-old bicyclist, four teens (Julie James, Barry Cox, Helen Rivers, and Ray Bronson) make a pact to keep their involvement a secret. But now, almost a year later, these four young adults are being threatened by someone who knows it was them who killed young David Gregg. Now that person is seeking revenge, targeting each one for death.Although the 1997 movie adaptation of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is quite bloody, don't except the same from the book. There is very little violence in the book. And even the time setting is different (it takes place in the 1970s, during the Vietnam War). In some aspects, the movie is better, especially if you're just looking for a good scare. But if you're looking for a fair teen mystery, then you might like the book instead. Even though I saw the movie first, there were still parts in the book that were suspenseful. For starters, the killer is different in both versions--the movie and book. However, after watching the movie, the reader will have a better idea of who s/he is in the book, whereas the reader who hasn't watched the movie will be a lot more surprised. His/her identity is hidden very well until the very end. At times, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (the book) was very good and fast-paced, but the characters were entirely unsympathetic. I wasn't attached to them at all and figured if they shared the same fate as some of the characters in the movie, then that was fine by me. I also didn't find the writing all that great. It was rather dry and mechanical. But if you're a Lois Duncan fan, then you might like this book. Or if you're curious about the book that was loosely adapted into a movie, then it's worth a try.
Rating: Summary: this was sooooooooo good! Review: This was soo good! I just read it in an hour & I abosolutely loved the ending. How Ray says that he couldn't live without Julie. But i ahve read other books by Lois Duncan. Such as The Third Eye, & The Twisted Window. I strongly suggust that who ever reads this should try them out! She is a great suspense author & I think the whole world should know that!
Rating: Summary: Indescribaly Better than the Movie! Review: I read this book back in high school, ironically not long before the movie came out. And I must say, the book is worlds better than the movie!! While both share the start of the same premise, four teenagers hiding a hit-and-run from last summer who are now being hunted down by someone who somehow knows about it, the book is full of twists and turns, and a surprise ending. It is thrilling and scary, with a constant question of who is the person who knows, and how does he know? His identity comes as a complete surprise at the end. The movie, on the other hand, was just another teen slasher, with the identity of the killer painfully predictable. Heck, the victim of the hit-and-run changed in the movie, from a small boy on a bike (who died on his way to the hospital)to a grown man crossing the street (who's body they dumped in the river). The book was emotionally engaging, and keeps you reading until the end. I haven't read it in a couple of years, and I can still quote lines! Bottom line: buy and read the book, but leave the movie in the store!
