Rating: Summary: The Book? The Movie? The difference! Review: O.K. When I read I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan, I thought. "This book is pretty good, I wonder what the movie will be like?" It turns out that in the book NO ONE dies! The worst that happens is someone jumps out of a two story high window-- and lives, and someone gets shot-- and lives! Then to top it all off, at the end you expect the kids to let the stalker guy have it? Right? No. They hit him in the head with a flashlight and call the police, he then gets taken to jail! In the movie, people were getting ripped to shreds and that IS NOT how the book went at all! And even though I loved the movie and thought it was much better than the book, I think Mandaly Entertainment just turned a suspensful plot into a great horror movie.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS DA BOMB!!! Review: WE THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS WE HAVE EVER READ. THE ENDING WAS VERY SUSPENSEFUL AND INTERESTING. WE THINK THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE SCARY BUT OVERALL IT WAS GREAT. WE RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO LIKES A LITTLE SUSPENSE. WE HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET BUT IT'S PROBABLY AS GOOD AS THE BOOK IF NOT BETTER. THE CHARACTERS IN THE BOOK WERE VERY FASCINATING AND WERE DESCRIBED WELL. Rating: Summary: The novel was decent but, the film was outstanding! Review: After seeing the movie first, I was ready to read the book. I can't say much about the book except, it was decent. Let me a take a minute to explain myself. Like other novels the movie was nothing like the book. Sure, they both included the same main characters and basically had the same plot. I honestly believe those were the only two things in common. Probably the most important example is, the hit and run accident. In the movie the victim was a man. In the book the victim was a 10 year old boy. Besides that, there were many other changes. I knew who the "killer" was the minute he was introduced. The killer in the film and the killer in the book were not the same. I also found the book slow moving, it wasn't as fast paced as i thought it would be. There were also a few flaws in the editing. Did I like the book? The answer is yes, I enjoyed it. Despite the flaws it was in fact, a good read. Was it suspenseful? Maybe to a young teenager. After all, that is the audience Lois Duncan writes for. By chapter 10 it got better. The story moved along quicker and everything came together. The last two chapters were the most suspenseful. I recommend you see the film before reading the novel. The book was decent. The movie was outstanding, highly suspenseful. You decide which you enjoyed more. Looking forward to reading Lois Duncan's, Killing Mr. Griffen.

Rating: Summary: I Know What You Did Last Summer By an 8th grader-April Review: The main character does the right thing when she doesn't tell the police about the incident she and her friends were involved in. By keeping silent, everyone eventually paid for thier mistakes. I thought this book fit the characters exactly. Julie, the main character, I liked the most. She always did the right things at the right time. Barry, another character, I thought kind of bossed everybody around. The other two main characters, Helen and Ray, kind of went along with what Barry said. Teenagers today go along with thier friends a lot. Sometimes they are the wrong friends but you go along with them anyway. Sometimes your friends do the wrong things and you still go along with them. I think your friends have a lot of influence on you. These bunch of friends in this book had a lot of bad decisions and just because of one friend risked getting in trouble with the police. This book is for people who like mystery. Lois Duncan did a really good job of hiding the murderer. If I could rewrite the book I wouldn't have so many characters. She would always have different people coming in and out of the story. But then, maybe that's what kept it a mystery.
Rating: Summary: A very well written suspenseful story. Review: I Know What You Did Last Summer, by Lois Duncan, is about fourteenagers, Julie, Ray, Helen and Barry. They were out for a good time, and on the way back, they hit a ten year old boy. They called an ambulance but were scared, so they did not go back. Ten months later Julie got a mysterious note and that is when their troubles began ... .
