Rating: Summary: Thrilling Review: Dean Koontz books always start off slow with tons of descriptive details of characters. The setting is what forms the characters though. Once the action and horror kicks in, his books can not be put down. This book starts off quicker than most and uses government and historical references to prove the point that the government can do anything it damn well pleases. The book did leave me wondering that is the only reason it isn't a five. Very creative and interesting concept. It is also very sweet underneath because the mother really really loves her son and will do anything for him. In the mean time she falls in love with the man helping her find her son.
Rating: Summary: Mother's love can beat out Govmt spooks Review: It was exciting, though seemed unfinished. But I like the fact that he included the death of Vince Foster as an example of fishy govmt explanation, and possible coverup by our prevaricator-in-chief. But I personally don't care for magical explanations of anything.
Rating: Summary: Suspense at it's Best!!! Review: Grabbed me from the start! It was excellent. One of Koontz's best
Rating: Summary: For Dean Koontz this book was very mild. Review: This book was one of Dean Koontz's earlier books rewritten and released, I personally can tell a big difference in his writing. As in all of his earlier books this book had a lot more romance in it, and lacked in a complete ending. As to where most of his books let you know for sure what's going to happen after everything is done and over with this book left you wondering where it would go from here. With an ending like that it's hard to enjoy the book, otherwise the plot and idea was good and ranked right up there with the rest of his books.
Rating: Summary: Really just, ya know... great! Review: Another winner for Koontz. Everything leading to the ending of the book just makes you not want to stop: The depth of the characters, the momentum of the plot...<P>Only complaint is that the book ends so abruptly! Did he run into a deadline or something?
Rating: Summary: GREAT!! Review: I am Brazilian and I had never read an English book before this one. I loved it! It grabbed me from the first page and couldn't stop reading it! I could count my goose bumps!
Rating: Summary: Koontz does not disapoint! Review: This is the third book I have read by Dan Koontz. (Phantoms and House of Thunder). This book was equally as thrilling and suspenseful as the other two. I love reading his books...I never lose my train of thought like I often do in other books. He is a genius with his discriptions and I will continue to read more and more of his books.
Rating: Summary: We've seen it before, but we still like it!! Review: Mr. Koontz seems to like plots about scientific experiments going wrong in labs...I could go on and mention a series of books of his which deal with this. However, this review concerns this book only. And a good book, it is. I enjoyed it immensely as I have done with all of his other books (I have 32 in total, a few missing) The lab aspect isn't the only one we have seen before, either. There is also the grief-struck mother who lost a child, and who also happens to have a gun, and falls in love with a guy who just so happens to have I AM THE HERO OF THE PLOT scrawled all over his forehead...these things are the trademark Koontzian predictables. However, there is always a different kind of twist to them, plus the very elegant and appreciative style of writing he uses to captivate the readers. All this ties in to make yet another success added to the bibliography of this great author, who stands in a class of his own.
Rating: Summary: The best Koontz has. Review: Koontz delivers one of his best. The Eyes of Darkness certainly has a chilling creative plot. The novel leaves one wondering about what exactly is going on in the world.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Koontz books ever. Review: A non-stop action book from start to finish. I would like to tell everybody to read this book. Grab a copy today.
