Rating: Summary: Live and Learn. Review: I thought that this book was great. If you were to take two normal teenagers and put them into this situation, like anyone, they would be completly shocked. Remy and Morgan did have many real life-related obstacles, and that's where every other teenager in the world and I come in. We can relate to this sort of thing. This book teaches you about love and friendship. And how two lovers mascarade can lead to others' loss. I think the punishments could've been harsher on Remy and Morgan, but more importantly, the book teaches teenagers all over the world how stupidness can always lead into something tradgic. This just goes to say that we can all make mistakes, but some mistakes come when they are least expected.
Rating: Summary: The book was decent. Review: I thought the book was OK. The beginning started out a little slow, but it gradually picked up.The book was a real life problem like kids stealing a sign. Remi and Morgan's two families are very different and I think that kids can relate to that. I do think that they should have been punished more, because they did take a life. But overall the book was pretty good.
Rating: Summary: A book that gets better as the story goes on Review: Cooney's novel Driver's Ed tells the story of a teenage prank turned fatal. The story starts out with a bunch of kids in a Driver's Ed class who have a teacher that thinks the class is a bigger joke than the kids do. When the book started out I thought the book was a typical boy and girl love story. The plot was moving kind of slow and I was getting borred. However, the story picked up as the book moved on. One thing that I really liked about the book was the way Cooney gave all of her characters a change in personality by the end. This made the book more interesting to read. The biggest suprise came when the Driver's Ed teacher changed his whole view about the class. He said that he realized that Driver's Ed is a life or death class, and it is the most important class of all. Overall, I enjoyed reading the book.
Rating: Summary: This book was pretty good Review: I thought that this book was pretty good until it got to the point of Remy and Morgan falling in 'love', it was pretty boring at times, but a lot of the sequences were very accurate in that sense, but I feel that this has already been done before. I've heard this type of scenario many times. A lot of teenagers do really stupid pranks without really realizing what could happen. They are immature and don't know how to grow up. The road is a very serious subject and I think people should think more about what they are doing, it's a continous loop affecting one another in different ways. It's good that Caroline B. Cononey wrote this book but I'm not sure if people will change that much, maybe it will make people think.. My personal opinion I didn't think it was a very bad book.. people should read it.
Rating: Summary: Driving isn't always fun. Review: The book started out a little slow, but as it progressed you got to know the characters in the story really well. Once you know the characters you realize that they were people that you might even be friends with, and they ended up killing someone. It makes the reader aware that even stupid pranks on the road can and will get people killed.
Rating: Summary: This book was good but it was a little slow in some parts. Review: This book was very interesting. I believe that if this happened in real life the the characters would of acted pretty much how they did. It was well written but in some parts it just sort of dragged on. The main charaters, Remy and Morgan, were written very well. I recomend this book if you have a lot of time on your hands.
Rating: Summary: Realistic event that could happen Review: Drivers ed by Caroline B. Cooney was a great book. It shows that the kids really didnt know what they were doing and that it could have consequences. This is an event that has happened to some unlucky teens. This was a great book.
Rating: Summary: Realistic story that could happen Review: Drivers Ed by Caroline B. Cooney is a great book. All teenagers who are or soon will be driving should read this. This made up story could and has come true from some very unlucky teens. This was a great book that was informative and added some romance to interest the readers. I gave it five stars.
Rating: Summary: I think the theme of this book is good. Review: On the other hand, I found the reading level of the book too easy for high school readers. The theme was excellent. It shows what simple things kids take as a joke can completely destroy the lives of others. I also found it interesting how each character dealt with the disaster. For example, Morgan is eating frosting and he thought it tasted like smashed car, destroyed flesh, and broken bones. Overall the book was average. It conveyed a good message.
Rating: Summary: Interesting plot but the book was to short. Review: This book was at first somewhat interesting but soon became a stickin nightmare. I felt like I was going out of my mind. I only finished the book because it is a project for driver's education class. The plot is okay but lacking in some areas. The detail of the book could have been better. I preferred Tolstoy's War and Peace over this book. It had some interesting similarities with a real life accident. It also shows in a dfine detail the emotional highs and lows of the teenage years. After the first chapter I didn't feel like reading the book.
