Rating: Summary: CANT PUT IT DOWN Review: i just finished reading this book and i find it really good the way Ruby lives her life being sent away to a boarding school with her twin sister Gisselle (whom she is not fond of) she has to leave her boyfriend behind her family her friends and her house but only when she arrives to Greenwood does she discover how precious life really is
Rating: Summary: An excellent sequel Review: I personally believe that the Landry series is the best the V.C. Andrews ghostwriter has done. Everything has been downhill from there. This book is a quick, easy read meant for pure enjoyment and nothing more. I found it easy to lose myself in Ruby's tales of all she went through at the hands of her sister and every other cronie in the school. With a V.C. Andrews book, that's all I can ask for! I do feel that Ruby's character was rather weak. I would have liked to read about her standing up for herself more than she did. If I had a sister like Gisselle, you better believe I wouldn't be such a wimp. This book is perfect for a quick, brainless summertime read!
Rating: Summary: good read Review: I still can't decide whether I like Ruby better than this one or not, but this is a very good read. Not as good as the Cutler series (my fave), but I definately recommend this to anyone who has read Ruby already. Mrs. Ironwood got me so mad at times, that I found myself cussing her out :)) that's how trapped I got in this book! nonetheless, READ IT!
Rating: Summary: Great Review: I think this book was great. True, Ruby was a little better, but this one was good too. It was amazing to me that Giselle ( Ruby's twin sister ) could be so mean! This book can get a little aggrevating b/c it seems like even though you're halfway through the only thing that has happened basically is that she has sex w/ he boyfriend Beau again. But it gets really good toward then end so don't give up on the book!
Rating: Summary: Why do they break her heart? Review: I think this is the greatest book, I'm about to finish the following one (All that Glitters), and it's unbelievable the way you get into the book...I mean, isn't it amazing the feeling you get when someone does someone really mean to Ruby? After all she's gone through, doesn't the girl deserve any happiness at all? After she's faced all those things, like her grandmere's death,a crippled sister and all the trouble with her Grandpere back at the bayou, now she has to live in Greenwood, where "the Iron Lady" hates her because of Daphne, and where she has to carry with all the responsabilities. And like this weren't enough, in the only happy moment of the novel (when she gets together with Beau for Christmas) she get's pregnant! Besides, Beau is taken far away, her father is dead, and she's left in Daphne's hands....could anything be worse? Yes...having a sister like Gisselle, who doesn't want to see you happy... At least, at the end she get's a chance to go back to the bayou (where her Granpere dies) and have her baby girl "Pearl" with Paul's love and support. Even though it isn't a happy ending, it's a very realistic and exciting one. It sure left me anxious to read the next book!
Rating: Summary: The book was really good. Review: I thought this book was really good, although, I hated how Ruby just let everyone walk all over her. If I was her I would not let gisselle get away with everything she did. O.K. maybe I wouldn't act very mad, but I would get very even. I mean come on, almost everyone in this book other than Ruby, Miss Stevens, Abby, Louis, Beau and of course Daddy were total witches!! I do have to admit that I really liked Gisselle's character a lot and If they ever made it into a movie, I would love to play her part. But, has far as the ending went. I would not of gave Daphne the satisfaction of leaving
Rating: Summary: Great story writing..Keep up the Great work! Review: I'm currently reading and pretty much skipping through the VC Andrew collection,.,.I'm almost finish reading Pearl in the Mist..I love these books..all the characters are so what similar ..But This is the kind of story telling I love..These books keep you on the edge of your seat as you read them,,,,
Rating: Summary: Never miss one! Review: I've read the every V.C. Andrews book. Loved them all!
Rating: Summary: Never miss one! Review: I've read the every V.C. Andrews book. Loved them all!
Rating: Summary: It was good, but the weakest of this series Review: Pearl in the Mist was a pretty good book, but I think it was meant for a brief rest for what was to come in the upcoming All That Glitters, which I think was the most explosive book in this series. In Pearl in the Mist, I think this is the most that Ruby's heart has ever been broken, by the death of her father, the way Miss Stevens was sent away, how she had to deal with Gisselle, also the bitchy, conspiring Mrs. Ironwood and Daphne. What broke my heart the most was the way that Beau left Ruby after he had gotten her pregnant, leaving her alone in a world that doesn't seem to give a care about her.
