Rating: Summary: The Good, The Bad and My Review Review: Okay - I'm a DK fan. And I did finish this book, although it took a little longer than usual. Marty sure was a "nice" guy, with amazing parenting skills - that was fine. But this zombie Alfie - my goodness - talk about repetitive! If I hear one more reference to a movie character I think I'll gag. I found his particular sections to be the hardest to read - the writing was disjointed somehow. I figure this to be deliberate by DK, to get you into the "psycho" frame of mind - but by the end of the book it was just irritating the hell out of me. I thought the overall story was pretty darn good but I must admit that for most of it I was thinking about who was going to play who in the movie.
Rating: Summary: Mr. Murder Rocks! Review: My wife and I listened to the audio version of Mr. Murder on a road trip to Utah in 95. This was the first book I had ever heard from Dean Koontz and it blew me away. We were literaly on edge for the entire trip. I thought the character build up, the family bond and the suspense of the chases was incredible. I liked this book so much, my band actualy wrote a song inspired by it.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Novel Review: I thought the Dean Koontz novel "Mr. Murder" was an excellent book. It keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. The story line was great because in the world today you never know when somebody could take over your life like this. The book had the main character Martin Stillwater having his life and everything he had worked for ruined because his "evil twin" claimed he was Martin. The story has Martin's family running for their lives until the dramatic end. The book deserved about a 9 from me. The only problem that I had towards the end of the book is it started to get a little bit too long for me.
Rating: Summary: Mr. Murder killed me.....and I loved every minute of it!!! Review: This is my fifth Koontz novel. I'm becoming a junkie. Finished it in one day. With the recent talk of human cloning, this spine-tingling read is even scarier. The Stillwaters are the Cleavers of the nineties (that's suppose to be a compliment, although taking a cleaver to beaver isn't that appealing). Highly recommend it!!!
Rating: Summary: Reality and Fiction - keeps you thinking it could be true!! Review: Koontz always gets things going, and never lets go. This is the case here. The descriptions and not "too" far fictional characters often keep my pondering if this type of sick character could be real some day or present day.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant! Review: A diabolical thriller that gives all the goods.
Rating: Summary: Has a terrifying central idea! Review: I always go to Mr. Koontz for a good read, and I went for this one. And surely, it was a good read. I enjoyed it tremendously and the main idea of the novel haunts me till this day. Another well-deserved success for your growing pile, Mr. Koontz!
Rating: Summary: Oh yeah...Oh YEAH...OH...YEAH! Review: I need...I need...? I need...What was it? Another Dean Koontz book to read. I've read all of them. In this thriller Koontz "leads us to Stillwater", a pretty normal guy it turns out--for a change, Dean! Great interplay with his family. He winds another "can't put it down story", a very nice audio experience if you are working on the house or driving somewhere, I might add. Again, the villain is incredibly ghastly. Again the detail is a little TOO graphic. These conditions make you scream encouragement to the Stillwaters, "Go Marty, Go!". You are really scared of the villain. I wish I could write stories like this. The work and talent that went into this one must have blown out a few gobstoppers.
Rating: Summary: Didn't care, didn't like it, didn't finish it Review: Let me start by saying that I think Dean Koontz is a terrific writer. I've read his books prior to and after this one and have enjoyed them. After more than 2 weeks of falling asleep after a single paragraph I finally put it up and went on to something else. Don't really know what it was about this book but man it was a snoozer! Sorry Dean.
Rating: Summary: Wake me up when it's over... Review: Sorry Dean... but I am always looking for the latest in your books and this time I was excited to see Mr. Murder hit the shelves. And hit the shelves it did... with a splat. As thirsty as I was for another of your great reads, this wasn't it. I tried hard to get into it but I found myself skipping ahead to see it if got better. It didn't.
