Summary: Keeps you guessing
Review: This is the first Dean Koontz books that I've read, and I really enjoyed this one. My brother recommended it to me and I liked it! Page after page I kept guessing what was going to happen and how they were going to get away from him!

Summary: Average...
Review: Didn't King write something along these lines; very similar? The Dark Half?

This novel was decent, but not usual DK standards. It had trademark characters, smooth story, but it bogged down at times. I can't put my finger on it really, the story just didn't interest me too much!!

Still it is better than a lot of stuff out there called "horror fiction." Koontz has more writing talent in his pinkie than a lot of other horror scribe's whole bodies. Maybe it's because Koontz has paid his dues and learned his trade.

Not a must read at all, but worth a look if found in an independent bookstore, garage sale, etc!!

Summary: My Evil Twin Did It!
Review: I resisted this one for some time, because too many bestselling authors were writing the diabolical doppelganger story at the same time - namely Stephen King (The Dark Half) and Peter Straub (Mr. X). But I was more than pleasantly surprised to discover that Koontz made the theme his own in a clever and satisfying way.

This can best be described as a better fleshed-out version of Koontz's earlier Shadowfires, and has some surface similarities to Whispers, as well. But Mr. Murder boldly goes into new territory, believably enough that the usual Koontz roller-coaster ride is more than usually intensified.

Some of the other reviewers have unfortunately given spoilers of the clever plot, but I won't repeat them in case you haven't seen them yet. Koontz is good enough at misdirection to keep you guessing for quite a while before spilling the beans as to what exactly is going on, and it's an enjoyable experience getting there.

The only real flaw with this book is that the early suspicions cast on the protagonist are too heavy-handed, and go on too long. But that's a minor problem in a book this well-written.

Summary: Alfia vs. Marty
Review: If you are looking for a good book from Dean Koontz this is the one for you. It has good characters and a better plot. It is also is easy to read and to the point. It has a fast pace till it gets to the climax and after that everyone in the book is tense and a little nevres. What is also good about the book is that the characters are depicted. It meant not be one of Dean Koontz best work's but if you like to read a book that has a twists and a good plot that gets better as it goes. Then Mr. Murder is the book for you.

Summary: Great Book and Great Movie
Review: ok, Dean Koontz has done it again. Let me tell you that I found this to be one of Koontz best books. I was intoxicated by the events that took place. Then, when I saw that there was a movie made about this book I had to get that too. I enjoyed the movie just as much...and really (that had nothing to do with the sexy star Steven Baldwin)
This is a great book and I highly recommend it.

Summary: O.K.
Review: Let me give you a summary of this ridiculous novel.

Mr. Murder starts off with Martin Stillwater, a succesfull author husband and father of 2 girls, in a blackout whispering "I need, I need, I need" to himself. He wakes up from the blackout and finds out that he has been whispering that to himself but dosn't have the slightest clue why.

Meanwhile. A lunitic somewhere else is whispering to himself somewhere else "I need a life, I need a life" by I need a life the lunitic means that he wantes to take someone else's life and what better life to take than Martin Stillwaters? Martin Stillwater has money and a loving family, so the lunitic decides to take Martin Stillwater's life. It dosn't tell us how but somehow the crazy lunitic actually appears to be Martin Stillwater physicly. He looks, and even sounds like Martin Stillwater! His plan is to go kill Martin Stillwater, and claim Stillwater's to daughters and wife as his.

While Martin Stillwater is out , the lunitic arrives at the house and looks around at his future belongings (or so he thinks) and looks at pictures of his future wife, and daughters (or so he thinks)

Hey wait? Doesn't that sound exactly like every other Koontz novel ever written? YES! Don't waste your time on this junk.

Summary: NOT ONE OF KOONTZ BEST, BUT GOOD.
Review: I really enjoyed this novel, it had a very good plot and idea. But at times the novel got boring, and predictable. I didn't enjoy this as much as I Enjoyed most of Koontz's other novels.

MR. Murder is about a crazy man who is not liking his own life, so he wants to steal someone elses. What better life to steal than Martin Stillwater's , Stillwater has a loving wife, daughters, and is a succesfull author, the crazy man chooses Marin Stillwater for his new life. But Martin Stillwater isn't going to give up his life...Without a fight!

Summary: Great beginning. The end.
Review: The beginning of this book had me hooked and I could not put it down. Then....I was lost. I struggled through the middle. Everything that happened at the end could have happened sooner and spared us a big, boring part of the book. Starting this book, I had mixed feelings as it was about the author. I had read a real BAD book by him and an outstanding book by him. So, I was going to try this one. I was disappointed. If you are looking for a real thrill ride or scare book, read Intensity. It will blow your mind.

Summary: Twisted
Review: "Mr. Murder" was without doubt a twist of the imagination on Dean Koontz's part. Throughout the entire book, up until the end, I was lost in a midst of confusion. However, the pieces of the puzzle gradually came together and everything began to finally make sense. If it hadn't been for the chilling suspense that hooked me from the start I wouldn't have kept on reading. The author's vivid imagination, shown through his gruesome detail, tantalized my thirst for suspense. I loved the moments where it felt as if I was the main character, Martin Stillwater, being chased down like a hunted animal, fearing not only for my life, but my wife and daughter's as well. This book got my heart pounding so hard it felt as if it was about to come up my throat. It's like a rush you get when you ride a roller coaster, without the long lines. However, the only downfall to the book was how it felt as if it was going in circles and the events seemed to be repeating themselves. Similar to Dean Koontz's other novels, this one can get a little confusing at times, but when you finally get what's going on, it makes the reading worth your while. I'd definitely recommend this book to any Dean Koontz fans, and if you're not already one, this is a great book to have your first taste of excitement and suspense.
