Rating: Summary: If you like action and suspense read Ransom Review: I read the book Ransom by Lois Duncan. I want to review it because it was very exciting and suspenseful. It is about a group of high-school teenagers that are from rich families. One ordinary Friday the kids got on their bus, but the bus driver wasn't the usual. The kids thought it was a substitute, but it actually was their kidnapper. The kids were taken up to the top of a mountain and held ransom. The kids go through hard times in a cabin in the winter. Do you think the high-school students can escape? You can find out by reading this book. I recommend this book because it has a strong plot, with well developed characters, but it gets to the action quick and the action lasts for the rest of the story. If you like suspenseful, action packed stories read Ransom by Lois Duncan.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: Lois Duncan's Ransom is one of the best books to hit the shelves. It not only keeps you interested but gives you a full, detailed description of what is happening throughout the story. The story is told by a "third party" that moves from place to place and person to person. The story line goes like this. Five students are kidnapped and held for ransom in an old cabin in the mountains. Two if these are brothers, Glenn and Bruce. Dexter, a straggler, lives with his uncle who is away on business and doesn't even know he is missing. Jesse is the daughter of a colonel and Marianne is a cheerleader that doesn't believer her stepfather will come through on the ransom money. The story goes through different twists and turns as well as surprising gunshots and arguments. This is a book that is hard to put down due to its suspenseful moments. Make sure you start with hours to spend reading it. It is definitely not a book to rush through. Overall the book is a great way to pass time and will always deserve the opportunity to be read over and over again.
Rating: Summary: Overall Good Book, Recommended to Get from Library Review: "Ransom" was my first book by Lois Duncan, and I was impressed, but not totally thrilled with the book. Five teenagers (a cheerleader, an army brat, two brothers, and a physically different boy) are all kidnapped one day on their way home from school. Yes that's right, five high school students are kidnapped. How? Two men take over the bus and drive the five kids to a secluded mountain cabin. The kidnappers are asking for $15,000.00 in ransom money, and some of the kids don't think that their parents can pay it. What will happen to the five teenagers and their families?
Rating: Summary: Review Time Review: I read Ransom, by Lois Duncan. The setting took place high in the mountains in a cabin. The main characters are Bruce, Dexter, Glenn, Jesse and Marianne. The book starts out as all five students are riding home from school on the bus, and the bus driver takes a wrong turn, he says that he's going to pick up a friend. A man in dark clothing gets on the bus, he has a gun and forces them to come with him to the cabin which he lives in high in the mountains. There they are held ransom, until each of their parents can pay the money that is asked of them. I liked the book, a lot because it was very suspenseful and had a lot of action in it. I recommend for people that like suspense.
Rating: Summary: OH MY GOD!!!!:) Review: Do you like mysteries? Do you like excitement, action, suspense? Then you should read "Ransom," by Louis Duncan. It is about 5 kids who get kidnapped, and the parents have to pay the ransom of $15,000 for EACH kid in order to get them back. Not only does it have mysteries, action, and suspense, but it has somewhat of romance and sadness. 2 of the kids start to fall in love with each other after something extreme happens to one of them. I'm sure you won't be able to put this book down.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I know it is trite to say, "I couldn't put this book down," but I really couldn't. The author has a wonderful ability to end a chapter in such a way that the reader simply can't wait to find what the next chapter brings. The story itself deals with a group of high school students who are kidnapped and held for (ta-daa) Ransom! The suspense in this story alone is enough for 5 stars, but what I found just as interesting was the way the five captives change, develop, and learn about themselves during their ordeal. Lois Duncan is already one of my favorite young adult authors, and this book is the best of hers that I've read so far. Good for adults, too.

Rating: Summary: The Scariest Bus Ride Review: A Review by Brian One day five students from a rich neighborhood, Marianne, Glenn, Bruce, Dex, and Jesse, notice that they have a different bus driver. He seems normal and they don't think much of their bus driver. He tells the students that he has to pick up a friend that lives close by, the kids think that it is sort of weird that he is using the bus to pick up his friend but they don't seem to really mind very much. It ends up that his friend and him drive past the neighborhood and tell them they are planning to kidnap them for ransom. They take the kids to a deserted town, and they are held in a cabin in the mountains for a ransom of 15,000 dollars each. The thing I liked in this book is the suspenseful moments. The story shows the characters emotions very well. I like the way the author arranges the events and the way they unfold. I think the best thing he does is describe the characters life's at home and what their parents are doing before the kidnapping and during the kidnapping. I think it was a very good decision that he chose to include the parent's lives and how they are dealing with the situation. I only thing I wish the author would have done was to make the ending more descriptive and gone farther into the story. P>I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a suspenseful and kind of an adventure like book. There aren't many hard words in this book so it can be read by most age groups. I think this is a great book if you like to read mystery stories.
